So sometimes older things are better than newer ones.

That's what I'm saying...still prefer my 10D, although the 30D is suppose to have the latest technology, good management of ISOs, etc...

BTW, I've just sent in my 30D for a back focusing issue. Never have this kind of crap from my 10D before!

10D  AF good enough for weddings, bought it way back in 2003 till now no problem ;) . BTW how much is it to change the shutter? Think its about time to give my ol friend a new life.

I thought it's abt $180 incl labour.
My 10D is probably too- pics are suddenly getting noisier and sometimes my colours are a bit washout.
I wonder why?
Perhaps the CSC will have some answers.

That's y the theory of cost-cutting. My 10D also never had any such problems. In fact, it didn't have any problems at all. :)

It's $178.50 including labour charges and free cleaning of focusing screen, viewfinder and CMOS sensor. Actually it's the labour charges that are expensive ($120+), the shutter unit's only $50.

By the way the $178.50 is 5% GST, should cost a bit more now.

Brother...I got assignment this Sat and on 28th July at AMK Sec.
Maybe you might like to zip by for the 28th event.
Incidently I just found out recently that my 10D was purchased just a few days after its launch in Singapore - found the receipt.
Triton and I were shooting colleague's wedding at St Teresa church last Sat - nice place.

lolz, but it's been with me for so long already many memories la haha. Anyway to the threadstarter cha11enge, you should consider the later Canon DSLRs which accepts EF-S lens , more choices of lens instead of just EF mount lens. :)

I dunno... I would avoid EFS as I believe in FF is the future....... and only got kit EFS from 400D.... I think that getting EFS lenses is too specialize for 1.6 fov body, and could be harder to sell next time... ;p

Brother... don't worry too much about selling.. I have EFS10-22 and the kit lens too when I have my 30D... enjoy it... esp the 10-22 since there isn't an L or EF that has this wide for 1.6x (don't talk about 3rd party lens)... I sold off easily (cos it is a great lens) when it is time to go FF

Quite true, you will be enjoying it for quite a while already since, and Canon prices does hold on pretty well, esp Ls... and the 10-22 is a good lens too, so should be easy to sell!

I did consider a 17-40mm meanwhile..... as that will be the work horse lens for 1.6fov cam..... Just that I hope they release 17-40mm MKII.....

But I think the kit will fit that space will till then, as I am considering a faster telephoto lens with USM.... 70-200mm F4L or 70-300mm USM IS..... need that faster focusing for sports (outdoor).... etc..... When shooting NDP, realised that Sigma focusing is rather slow when I was shooting apache........ lots of poor shot and OOF.....

i'm now using the 17-40 f/4 and 70-200 f/4. Both are very fast and sharp lens. No regrets getting them.

for what? the 17-40L is a rather new lens leh, like 2003 or 2004 released?

It is a 2003 lens.... I dunno.... I always get the feeling that they will do it....

I read many times that Nikon wide is much much better than canon wide....

Woah...GST increase they also increase the labour charge! I sent it in in March. Shutter unit = 50, Service Charge = 120, Discount = 36. Total 140.70 incl 5% GST.
