How old is your 10D????

7 yrs itch soon???? :bsmilie:

I just got my 400D, and intent to hold it for 3-4 yrs.... things move very fast, but as long as what you have is sufficient, I see no need to upgrade....

I got my 10D 2nd hand for 1.5 years le. But actually it's over 3 years old. Since recently changed shutter unit, can whack a while longer. :bsmilie:

The EOS 10D was a great cam, still is. I like the control, especially the large daisy wheel on the back.
This is my under utilized EOS 10D with grip.

This cam is fast enough for sport like this. Mated with EF70-300mm IS, AI mode.

Also fast enough for birding like this one.

Nice pictures.... how is the focusing of EF 70-300mm???? Is it fast????

Just went shooting and felt that my sigma focusing hunt a lot at times..... :(

The EF 70-300mm IS focuses fast enough for sport, especially outdoor. Can be slow under dim light. Too slow for flying bird. Can not comment on how it compares with the Sigma 70-300mm, but I am sure it is a lot faster than Sigma 75-300mm APO Macro which I also have one (up for sale soon). :)

Thanks Bro...

Wondering if should I get a canon tele lens... the sigma is ok, but the focusing when I need it to be faster have disappoint me at times.... tried sports and hunt too much....

Did you consider 70-200mm f4 when you buy your 70-300mm??? Just curious why you get the 70-300mm instead.... ;)

My experience from using the Sigma 70-300mm, my success rate is low without IS. You can test out my Canon tele if we get a chance for outing... :)

Certainly hope so.... My hit 300mm is not that bad.... I ever handled 1/6 for 105mm and was sharp... for 300mm... think I tried 1/125 also... and survive...... but I did not shoot long lens for too long, so I am a bit rusty without practice.... but those shots I miss, I tried with tripod also blur, as my tripod is the lighter one, and strong winds were present when I was shooting the national day rehearsal yesterday.... See if I can post a few pic later... I am very new to digital still.... :)

I think 300mm with 1.6 is 480, so that was a problem, plus lighting was low too, so it is very very CHALLENGING!!!!

Still experimenting... plus my stupid pc have 2 usb, one for mouse and one for wireless.... hahaha.....

Not really cost-cutting. Look at the price of the BG-E4 for 5D, it's over $400!

I'm comparing between the BG-ED3 and BG-E2. BG-E4 is of a different grade, which is much better than the BG-E2.

actually what is the different grade :dunno: feel the same to me :bsmilie:

Even the BG-ED3's better than the BG-E2.

10D still a good camera.as for me it doesnt matter how the mirror snaps or the size of the grip..as long has you have the good composition on the subject, proper metering, angles, etc. then you have a good start in the world of photography.;)

10d is outdated ;p

Not for me. I'm still achieving very sharp and good pics with it. Just sent in my 30D for back focus issue though...

Never have this problem with 10D.

Same here...my 10D being with me since 2003...still my trusty cam...like the built defintely.

Yes, and this is exactly what I'm trying to drive at.

Perhaps it's due to the better quality or built from older cams. Newer ones maybe cutting cost??
