It could be "before GST" price. After applying 7% GST, it works out 2983 which is close to 2996 that the other brother mentioned. My Guess.

Just came back from Hong Kong. Did not intend to buy any lens, so just pop into a cam shop near lane Crawford and ask for fun on this Len.

The price stated at the tag is approx sgd 2800, after conversion.

Tested the Len.... It is really awesome... The sharpness produced, the focusing speed, is superb...

If you add shipping and 7% gst, it is as good as 3K already.

Take this lens for a holiday trip with some hesitation. It used to be my trusty 24-105L.
No regret. It on my 5dmk3 99% ! The other 1% is the cute little 40mm STM.
Carry it entire day - ok
No IS - ok, minimum shutter at 1/125.
Only 70mm, not 105mm - ok. Just crop a little.
No Flash - with iso 12800 - Ok, probably need it for 24-105L unless I push Iso to 25600.
Video - ok, only take 2 short clips anyway.
24mm - ok, not a hardcore landscape shooter.
MFD - ok, able to shoot inside a cable car/Ferris wheel/monorail.
Color - wonderful !
Bokeh - wonderful !
Contrast - wonderful !
Sharpness - wonderful !
Dof - great subject isolation
Kids running towards me - ok, burst with servo.
AF - fast, accurate with consistency !
Weight distribution - very even. Lens and body feel as "one".
Size - feel like a 24-105L.

I just got mine at TK Foto in Funan on last Saturday @ SGD2900 w/GST. They seems to have a couple more in stocks. Did not make any reservation before. Just walk in and ask.
