They will launch the 24-70 f/2.8L IS. I think the next update, they will have it, maybe they want to monitor the popularity of the Tamron VC first, then produce a 24-70 f/2.8L IS that will totally outclass it, but I expect the SGD RRP to be the same level as 70-200 f/2.8L IS II - $3,999.

I dont think so they dont want the 24-70 to overshadow the 24-105 as it gives them a choice between IS and f/2.8

I doubt it will overshadow. The 24-105 will always have it's attractiveness of the extra 35mm which makes it a very good range for a 1-lens solution for walk around and travel, plus it has the huge advantage in price and weight. Certainly not everyone can afford a 24-70, that's what 24-105 has to offer

These two lens target two totally different market..... and they actually compliment each other, and is not uncommon to know of people who own both....

TK had 2 or 3 pieces but reserved for customers on waitlist. Picked up mine today finally. Have been deliberating between this n the Tamron. This lens really burn a big hole in my pocket. Hopefully will forget about the $$ spent when i see the IQ! But first impression is that it feels so light compared to the mark 1.

Here's another image to share. Maybe it's just me, but the sensor in the 1DX combined with this lens is something that blew me away. The dynamic range is just astounding and I hardly did any post processing! I really enjoyed carrying the combo around.

So eoseij, you won't have any regrets with your lens. Congratulations to all the new purchasers of this lens as well!

I'll post more pictures when I get my new watermark ready. Right now, this will suffice...
