Looks like what the Canon SG guy told the salesman (refer to my earlier post, while I was there) was correct/reliable. Heard from the teleconversation that "it won't come until October EARLIEST". :bsmilie:

Not sure about TGX, but STGCC yes, will be there for both days. Spot me? XD

Canon Rumours says the same thing... October shipping date.
 

any idea what is the estimated price for this MK II?
 

If DD do pre-order for $3300++, then the price should be in the range of $2800-$3200

just assumption with 5D Mark 3... they do pre-order price about $4600++ if i'm not wrong... the price drop to $4300-$4500 when it was out..

this lens has been delayed for a year... i think might delay even more... :p
 

24-70L ver 1 pull out of production so fast, ver 2 delay dunno until where.

IDK this is good news or bad news for ver 1 owners :bsmilie:

Not sure of other shops but Cathay Photo Marina has indicated no stocks coming except waiting for the Mark 2 to be released.

Check the Peninsular branch. Marina is always lagging behind stock, their main shop is the Peninsular branch. Canon SG will always deliver new stocks to them first and they will sure have it (have priority) over others.

I saw a Gundam cosplayer and a Diablo at Funan during TGX promotion.... was interesting............ but I did not have cam with me to shoot........

In some other forums, I read of mk1 user selling their lens in Sept, but ended up with no lens as the 24-70 II was delayed...... sigh......

Just hope that the wait is worth it, as one of the tester on the NDP rated this lens very highly, and asked people considering Tamron 24-70mm VC to wait for it... and is worth the wait.........
 

Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L II Has Made its Way To Retailers

I have received two reports of people buying the new Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L II from retailers in Australia. The lenses are expected to hit Europe and North America by September 13, 2012.

Initial stock is probably already allocated to preorders, but I’m told to expect quantities to be quite good into October.

Found a site in australia, johnbarry.com.au

Selling 5dmk3 + 24-70 for $6260 AUD
He is selling 5dmk3 for $3999 AUD

So, e lens price /$2261 :) AUD

Should be in singapore about $2800-3000 sing
 

cant wait for it to be released too... i think it will be a perfect fit for 5D3...
