ok, so you are suggesting that i should buy the standard package, either kit1 or kit2 lens, first? i will be using the cam mainly for outdoor shoots - scenaries, people, etc.

labla, what negative feedback did you hear about the kit2 lens? just curious to know

17-85; Older IS module, quite crazy barrel distortion on the wide end, colors aren't very good, pricey for what it's worth. It has USM and a longer range though.

18-55IS; Newer IS module, Cheaper, better colors & sharpness (relatively), less barrel distortion, lighter.

That's why I asked him if the warranty card was stamped. He told me that he immediately registered it in the Canon Website just to be sure...I will confirm with him today and check his camera as we will be having some photoshoots today

Hi guys messaged MS COLOR just now, the quote was 1460 + 7%GST, free 2GB CF card high speed, EF lens book and 40D guidebook. So it's about 1562 after GST.
