Canon COMEX 2009 Price List and Freebies

hi there,

just bought my Canon 500D lens kit 1.

btw for those who are buying at comex pls take note that you get the crumpler bag at comex and not after you register online at home.

you can register online at the redemption counter too, advisable to do so.

Anyway the counter staff "forget" to give me my crumpler bag but luckily i remember and went over to take it. The staff looks like a 16 year old kid, remember to check what they are suppose to give you and make sure everything is there before you make your way home

total cost is $1599(include extended warranty $150 + EF 50 f1.8 lens $50)

and of course entry coupons for lucky draw.

on a side note, remember to participate in the lucky draw at level 6. Organizers shift it to level 6 to spread the crowd at ground floor. That means after redeeming your stuff, you have to make all the way back to level 6 for the lucky draw (in my case cos i bought the extended warranty at level 1 if not after you buy at level 4, before you go redemption counter at level 1...head to level 6 and then level 1 to redeem the stuff)

How long for the extended warranty? extra 3yrs?

Seems like quite a good deal....normal reputable shop selling it at 1260 (like John316)...now..for 139 more...u will get a 3in1 printer (ard 100) + bag (110) + 8gb card (30) + tripod (maybe 20+, btw izzit good quality one?)

so...pay 139 for value worth 260 freebies...quite a decent deal.....i wanted to buy 1 also!!!just i hv not enough money now...gonna wait for another 2 months i thk....sad....:cry:

it's not extra 3 years. Total is 3years 3 months.

Tripod is DIGI eye TR35. Not sure whether it's cheapo or not.

Canon quite clever to work with crumpler to give out free bags. I think the base cost of the bag is much less than 110.

I remember they also have a limited edition of the canon/crumpler neckstap for DSLR.

actually, it never ceases to amaze me how people rush down to IT shows, thinking they get very good deals for cameras.

take the SX 20 for instance. the show price is $749. it's only $679 at AP with more or less the same "freebies"! maybe except for the tripod, or bag?

You need to purchase the extended warranty in order to get the 50mm 1.8 @ $50.
If you are thinking of getting the extended warranty and buying the 50mm, you can do it before Comex ends, just remember to bring your receipt of purchase. I ever tried.

e previous show they gave EOS black tripod sold for $88 at Vivo city Canon, but now all DSLR give same free tripod.. 320GB HDD also not giving liao..

Just for all to know, 500D is normally sold for $1250(kit 1) with standard free gift from Canon. Not sure if it is worth to pay extra $149 to get some cleaning kit/Bag and stuff. You can get very nice lowepro bag with $149.

No worries, a friend's father: an old timer, using a350 with 50mm too (plus 17-55 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 L non IS).

I saw sony stand very aggressive. For purchasing extra warranty they give their 50mm for free (if my English doesn't fail me).
