it is midnight when i post the question and canon is most probably not open.. ive read through the previous pages and the answer is not there or rather contradicting.. therefore im askin if any1 manage to use a canon printer to change for a dslr lately..

what should i term this when i call CSC, buyback program? I thought its undisclosed?

I got a Canon Selphy CPsomething printer spoilt (guy upthread have you called CSC on that)
+ a Canon Powershot A520 with a cracked lcd screen + Canon EF 50mm 1.8 (split into two ) . Eligible?

Confirmed now, Printer NOT eligible for Camera. Terence from CSC said that.
For P n S to be used in PPP, can get up to 550D; for other forms of SLR (film...), can up to 50D. No 7 D.

No lens can be use for lens.

Not sure printer to printer.

i called them last week, and was told only defective cameras are allowed for trade in. Working condition cameras are not allowed :\

This means one has to drop their cam to make it defective

dun call la, go down with your cam, if can good lor, if cannot, you go out smash your cam then go back in again. haha!

anyway, working or not should be no problem one cos i asked at the service centre liao.

Simple.Just knock your camera(the one u are using for the program)against some steps and spoil already:thumbsup:

No need to be so drastic. Just tell them the display shuts off once in a while. They will not try too hard to verify an intermittent problem.

i have a spoilt A40 for trade in too...anyone want to swap with a working cam before trade in?

Thinking of bringing my 20D to trade for a 550D.

Anyone knows if I need to bring the charger and accessories as well?

Hi guys,

Can I trade in an old Canon 3.2 megapixel for a spanking brand new 5D Mark II?

Cheers!

BTW i traded an old canon film camera which I bought for $4

Regarding the "trade-in" for cameras, when asked over the phone, the CSC staff has to give the politically correct answer which is only defective cameras are allowed for the privileged purchase which was what the programme was intended for in the first place. I am guessing this is because the phone conversation is recorded for training purposes and in order to avoid liability issues should anyone decide to abuse the system, they have decided to default to the standard, politically correct answer.

However, if you go down directly to the service center, Canon will accept any working or non-working camera. All you need to do is state that you wish to purchase the camera that you want under the Canon Privilege Purchase Programme and whip out your old camera that will be used for the "trade-in". Should the old camera be in working condition, fine. Canon will accept it under the "Body - Used Condition" criteria, no questions asked.

Ha ha, I think you don't bother to read the previous posts, just whack the same old question that has been answered a few times already.
