Canon buy back program

Hey guys, just went to CSC to order my first 550D. They actually don't care about your "trade-in" camera as long as it's a canon. The highest they offer is to 50D. Price quoted as below:

50D
body $1350
Kit 1 (18-55) $1509
Kit 2 (18-135) $1787
Kit 3 (18-200) $2065

550D
body $992
Kit 1 $1151
Kit 2 $1429

Went down and ordered my 550d today:

- Delivery is estimated to be less than 3 weeks, let's see...
- Freebies as per Canon website (no Crumpler..)

The condition of your old trade-in Canon is virtually irrelevant. The girl filled in the whole form and only asked for the camera at the absolute end to key in the serial number of my old (non functioning) S50. I assume it went straight to the bin after that.

Ended up saving almost $200 compared to street price for kit I, so am a happy camper...

... and picked it up today, less than 48h after ordering. Definately a lot less than the 3-4 weeks initially promised

Freebies were 8GB card and Canon bag (black, not too shabby looking)
Battery charging, tonight we shoot

no need to be faulty... Just send a Canon camera will do. They will justify on the paper maybe 'LCD too dusty cannot view'.......etc.

I've bring a number of my friends there for this "program" till I think the C.S. also recognise me liao. :sweatsm:

Remember that the original cause of this program is to provide an option for "existing" customers to change their camera instead of repair.

think this has been mentioned n times in the previous pages. there is no trade-in program, only privileged purchase program, and you got to bring your faulty/old cam to CSC. most of the time, they don't confirm it through phone.

Yes you can't "trade in" your camera.
