Oh hi me also went today morning to trade in an old Canon Film camera bought from Sungei Rd yest for $8 so as to buy a 500D body (not easy finding old or spoilt Canon cam, mostly pentax, nikon, fuji, konica, etc). Was planning to buy the 7D, but only 450D, 500D, 1000D and those promotional PnS cam eligible under this exchange prog. Just for your info if u intend to go for this discount.

When you collect your item? You may call them Monday to ask if the stock arrive. Then can go get it.

i collected my set on 14/12/2009, but strange, they did not ask me if i want the 270ex as an optional purchase.

did they ask you, or must we ask for it?

CSC only said the 270ex be available end of Dec, which date they can't confirmed. Those who wish to get the 270ex purchase with purchase @ $119 can called up Canon Digital Lab at 6796 3180 to ask if the stocks have come in. Was told to being my warranty card to purchase the 270ex @ $119. Do your purchase at the Canon Digital Lab too. Cheers Bros

What can we change the camera?
1) If you want to change the camera then go to CSC for privilege purchase programme.
2) If your camera has already damaged then go to CSC for privilege purchase programme.
3) If your camera was older then go to CSC for privilege purchase programme.
4) If your film camera, then go to CSC for privilege purchase programme.

How long can we take for collection?
1) Depend on them, maybe in few weeks or one month.
2) You call them who can check on when ready for collection.

What can we payment for?
1) You can pay cash, nets or credit card at no extra charges.

Problem with your camera?
1) Call directly at Canon.
2)We are not canon salesman or maid. as we are discussed our community only.

What they want stop in the near future?
1) There are no more 50D units available for this program as of 12/16/09, they only have the 500D and the G/S cameras for now, and unless there are 7D supply surpluses, it won't be offered in the near future, according to the lady at the service counter.

I believed everyone know about it including Canon guys. They dont even bother to ask about the camera I traded in on whether is it working or not or does it belongs to me. Even when selling at 20% below their promotional price, I believed they still earned from it. The biggest worry is those Sungei Rd peddlers dont read about it else they will definitely marked up the price of any Canon camera they got, then we will go back to square one to buy from stores :}

I wonder if canon often has "free-lens promotion"? I missed the 50mm 1.8 promotion last time, sadly.
I hope next year they have the same promotion again

The current promotion is slightly better than the free 50mm len ($125) one cos the pricing is $100 cheaper and also able to buy the 270ex flash at $119. Also, not worth trading in your SLR with len cos its only $100 plus cheaper to trade in than buying from shops. Better to call them up bf going down to trade in

I Just collected my 500d body today from the Canon Cte also through the exchange program. Very satisfied with their service and waited only 4 working days to get the cam. Was asked to choose between the normal camera bag (think is EOS pro) and a super-chio LV hand bag like camera bag as the free gift. So chose the second one and purchase the speedlite 270EX also. Thumb up Canon.
