i just rang up canon,

they claim that it must be spoilt, corroded,
then they accept the trade in.


which i intend to get a super old Ixus,
and get a S90.

but they refuse to tell me,
how it is going to work... or how much discount.
or how long to wait.

is this normal?

yes this is normal... their policy is that they are unable to tell u thru phone... just bring your cam down and u will know what happen...

strangly, i should be expecting it not work well, so that i can trade it in right?

Don't call them, they will not tell you the "trick". the process is very simple, took less than 5 mins. they even don't bother to check the condition of the camera, so long ur camera has "Canon" logo on it they will accept. my film camera's condition is worse than my son's toy camera. the price is base on canon website lastest price.

No, pay only when collection. i was only asked to sign a service report.

$1,588 is after discount, the original price for EOS 500D Kit II is $1,999.

Your S90 should be cost you around 595 after the privilege purchase programme.

well...mine was actually still working with dents and the metal covering peeling off badly
still she wrote on the form dented casing...and i got my S90 for $595. I'm still waiting for it though.

Anyway, need to thanks all who have shared the information which saved me at least $80.
