Canon BG-E11

The grip is weather resistant as claimed by Canon, but the thing is the entry point of the battery grip to the battery slot of the cam isn't sealed with foams or things the-like. IDK, got to ask those bros who managed to get one to comment.

But let's say if you tightened the grip nicely to the cam, light drizzle shouldn't be a problem..

Actually weather-sealing isn't critical unless u're using it in harsh conditions in which the majority will not be in those conditions.

true enough. but it's good to have to guard against light rain, just in case you are caught off guard :)

Actually light rain isn't critical. I've shot with my 5D (with batt grip of cos) in light rain locally and in Shenzhen and so far no issues.

I see, that's good to know.

For me it's just above giving me a piece of mind :) As in I don't need to worry much if I am caught in the rain :)

Light rain is no issue as that time Shenzhen was rainy weather and rained the entire day, but still went on to shoot.

Returned to the hotel room to check, i only need to clean lens.

Yup. My 5D2 was tested in the rain as the first few days was rainy when I was in Tokyo earlier. Was most pleased that all is fine. :)

That's why weather seal is a plus to me, cos I'm abit the kiasu type :bsmilie:

Haha it's always gd to be more cautious and prepared, but at times it's really not needed so don't have to mind too much about it. :D

Today just happen to walk past Alan photo at Sim Lim so just pop in to ask about the bg-e11, they just took out the box and quote $400. But did not buy it as i can get at $370+ when the stock arrive... cos I also dun need it urgently.

Can pm me where to get @ $370?

Hi Pal,

Possible to share or PM me at where we can purchase at $370? Appreciate your advice as certain store at AMK quote me $469 which is way too much as compare to $370.

Thanks,

MS Colour?

$469 is the RRP btw.. sure it's expensive, but at least they don't charge you above RRP like some shops do..

Finally heard some good news, Kinda give up for waiting for local AD, beside my friend just help to buy mine from Canon Korea, they had ready stocks and BG-E11 + LP-E6 at around $450 sgd. just for some informations sharing.

that's nice!

I also want to know who overseas got stock can lompang.. but too bad no one in S.Korea or Japan now :bsmilie:

S$375 - S$395 would be the fair price range in my opinion basing on facts that I've gathered at canon and from a dealer. If you have the 5D3 launch invitation it will be a bit lower than that as avsquare has suggested. But no need to go on fbi mission just to get the price, not much cheaper. You can do the calculation from the RRP of $469.

A fair and reasonable price indeed.
