Canon 7D Mk II - Specifications (90%)

both are different camera for different purposes,i would say.
but 7D2 is indeed a better specs camera compare to 6D,probably 6D wins in FF but not everybody wants a FF.
i believe 7D2 will be a hot-seller.

There's always a position for crop cameras in the market. Esp the ones with lots of cross type af-points (coupled with a good AF module) and fast fps for the sports enthusiast or birders.

I agree. There are certain advantages to having a crop sensor. The 1.6x crop factor is the biggest advantage which helps one get closer to their subjects (birding, animals, etc.).
There was once a post where one person had several photos taken by the 5D and 7D. It was nearly impossible to tell the difference.

hopefully they make 7d2 the apsc verision of 1dx
but if priced too near 5d3, i rather top up buy 5d3

The hign-end crop sensor model is a class on its own.
yes,mostly for sports and wildlife.

last week i was browsing through some of my old photos of birds which i took some times ago and had forgotten which camera was used to shoot them. I admit that i can't tell the difference between my previous 7D and 1Dx.

first of all the sensor performance can't be that good of 1Dx and second the FPS won't be that fast.
the rest probably similar.

Guys is 7dmk2 a full frame? Would love if it is full frame.

I hope the new 7D2 will omit the AA filter.

I am deeply in love with my a7R which is without the filter. :D

That's probably what they meant when they mentioned "fine detail" sensor in the spec list.

The latest chatter on CR speculates whether we will see an announcement by the end of this week for the new Canon 7D Mk II or later on September 15th.

The specifications for the camera as announced in the past few weeks haven't changed although there is still hope for surprises regarding the sensor.

Canon 7D Mark II speculation

Three new lenses are expected:

1. EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Pancake
2. EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
3. EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II

i thought the 400 F4 DO lens wasn't popular.
iam quite surprised that day made a MK II.

Hmmm.... no announcements this week by Canon.

I guess we'll have to wait until next week or the week of the 15th when Photokina is scheduled to begin. :dunno:

CR said they have confirmed the spec
Announcement next week

Now I want to know 1. Is ISO 50 available as expandable option? 2. Can I do multiple shots in mirror lock up? 3. Does the battery grip comes with joystick to control the AF points(like the 5D3)?

Make a mark ii to make it more popular. :dunno:

Paint the ring Red instead. Maybe will be more popular... but that may cannibalize into their 400mm sales..

There has been some speculation that the 7DII will be using a modified or slightly improved 70D sensor.

Follow the CR forums.

Honestly I belong to the camp which was hoping for some sensor improvements.
I mean 5 years, and both Nikon and Sony and various other competitors have been pretty innovative and competitive when it comes to sensor tech.

It will be a huge letdown for Canon to be using "old" technology.

But that's the Canon thing to do I guess.

From the latest leak, it seems that 7d2 will look like a crop version of 5d3...now is to wait for the sensors review which I still doubt it will be anything groundbreaking.

Agreed 100%... But I do really really hope for something that is at least a couple of stops better than the old 7D... I am setting 2 thousands aside for this camera... My old 7D is starting to show some problems and I cannot afford anything more than 2k. So... yeah...
