First of all, getting the 60D is a really good idea. It is an excellent camera!

Pairing it with the 18-135 lens is also very good. Many people have given several positive comments about this lens. However, there are two other lenses you can consider if your budget permits.

The 15-85 lens is reportedly sharper than the 18-135, although the cons include a smaller focal range and a higher price.

Lastly, the 17-55 f/2.8 lens is also sharper and allows for low light photography. The cons include a shorter focal range and a higher price.

Did I forget to mention that the 60D is a really fantastic camera? ;)

Yes, the general consensus in this thread is that the class 6 and above cards are suitable for the 60D when it comes to video recording. Anything slower than this will cause frames to be skipped.

Well, I bought the 60D on the day it was available as the spec was better than 550D. When someone mentioned why a plastic body, I believe he meant that it is light weight. Well I had looked at both the 7D and 5D and they are not suitable for me due to the metal body causing the heavy weight, just not practical as a travel and trekking companion. I carry my equipment with me the entire day without trouble. Todate, I am not able to find a single fault with the camera and some initial issues, like the yellowish pictures and not as sharp, were all due to my inexperience in using the digital processing softwares and inferior lens. With fast lens that I owned now, there is little or no manipulation needed if I simply set to AEB for white balance. Hope that soon full frame will also be plastic and as light.

Do note their cards are shop warranty, not official distro warranty.

I bought the Sandisk Class 6 16GB with top speed of 20MB/s for S$70+ recently. :)

Hi to the 60Ders,

Just like to check how am I able to open the RAW file (.CR) in Photoshop CS5? I am using the original pack of CS5 Creative Suite. I did try to open the file in photoshop but prompted with an error message that my version of RAW file is not recognised. So is there a secondary software to distill the file before opening? I did not install the full package of software that comes with the Canon 60D.

I am running on Mac OS X V10.6.5

Please advice...thanks! :D

I know SanDisk class 6 has transfer rate of 20MB/s and their class 10 is 30MB/s but Transcend class 10 is 20MB/s... so personally I would rather go for SanDisk... I just got my 8GB SanDisk class 6 for $40 over the weekend... now my 60D can do video... the class 4 that comes with the cam does not even allow video recording past 8seconds...

Hi Doodah,

Oh ok...I will try it out!!! Great Thanks;)

You should be able to update ACR to the latest version from the "Updates" Command under the Help menu.
