Is the date close or are the specs close or are both close? Do you have special information that others do not?

Why would 5mk3 megapixel be higher than 1DX? If so 22mp.... Who will buy 1DX?
How could focusing point be the same as 1DX?
How could fps be close to 1DX performance?
It will not be a far leap in features from present 5D mk2.

Just my prediction. There is always the trend that 1D and 5D series having some similar specifications. Won't be surprised that the specification matches. Anyway just wait and see.

5d2 is already 21 mp...so 5d3 should have at least some marginal improvement. But I agree with ur 2nd and 3rd comment, prob 5d3 will still end up with a better AF and FPS,a crippled version of what's in 1dx..

Too good to be true. Good for us if its true. But does not seem to be in line with Canon's product range segmentation strategy. This will effectively cripple sales of the 7D (high end APS-C) and 1Dx (current king of the hill).

It will eventually come close to the 1Dx spec (just like the old EOS 1v/EOS 3). But probably not in this generation of 5D.

Its supposed to be USD$2700.

In any case, there is no confirmation of the camera being the 5DII replacement model. It may be one of the those surprises like the 7D when it first came out. I suspect it may be so again.
And on another note, what if its an APS-H ?? As there were rumours of an October launch/availability for the 5DIII or 5DII 'replacement' whatever it may be called.

I guess so too.. 61pt AF and DIGIC 5, FF 22mp seemed too high spec for 5D.. sounded more like 1D series.

I am happy with 22mp, the image quality of 5D2's 21mp is already good enough for me. I don't think there will be 61 af pts though. I guess 19 af pts is a better guess.

Opps.. I did not realized US$ dropped to 1.218.....

If US$2700 will be around S$3200..... so same segment.... I thinking of US$ at 1.4-1.5......

It was around this price too (USD) when 5D2 launched. I remember paying about S$3.6k for the body alone.

I am still hoping the 5D Mk3/5DX/... comes with a swivel screen. The pictures from Kenya are actually the 7D Mk2/7DX/... field test for later launch. This, plus a lighter 24-70 Mk2 will make the jump to FF sooo much more tempting.
