Yee hah!!! :cheergal:

The 5D MkIII has finally arrived in a CR3!

I can't wait for the official announcement. All the specs are close to what I wanted except for price. The price is $500 USD over the D800 so I wonder if there is something else with the 5D that justifies this premium. Anyway, I'm glad that it's finally on its way!

The 61pt AF system justifies for the USD$500 premium already, especially for 5D2 upgraders. :p

The scary thing is... the specs seems like a 7D upgrade, since it did not mentioned that it will be a full frame sensor. Haha...

Haha...I dont mind if is a 7D upgrade as long there is improvement on noise by at least 1stop from current.

When I mentioned 7D, I meant APS-C...

yup, yup. I am using 7D now for all my shoot due to the extra focal lenght gain from the crop sensor but i really dislike the iso preformance during indoor or low light condition shot without flash (prefer not to use on animal to avoid frightening them). since i own a bunch of EF lenses, i thought why not give new FF a try if AF & iso are good. so i am ok with above spec for 7D upgrade if the iso is at least 1stop improvement from current 7D (cant ask too much improvement on crop sensor with high pixel count)

Mmm.... when was this??

I read most of the user review then (last Sept) before I buy my cam, and I concluded mostly user issues... I could be wrong... but thankfully, mine is still spot on so far..... after taking it out for a few events shooting.... will be trying out shooting soccer with it soon....

if i am not wrong, it should be somewhere nov/dec when i was there

It should be a ff sensor, I mean I feel it is. Let's find it out next week.

zzzz why wouldn't it be FF.

don't think so much la ffs.

I think I will drop in for a check since under warranty..... I think I could have that issue..... I cannot confirm, but I just go for a check....

As I tend to shoot in bright daylight, I did not notice, till I shot in dim condition, using longer lens.....

Thanks Bro. ;)

Halfmoon, your flash has been announced. It's got a CR3 too!

Yap........... CR3, 580, EOL products..... thanks bro.....

Cannot wait for it!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::D

New Flash & Lenses [CR3]

February 22, 2012
Canon Flashes

Canon 590EX Speedlite
To be announced with the coming 5D replacement. As mentioned previously, it will have radio capabilities built in.

I also note that a big USA retailer has the 580EX II listed as EOL (End of life) in their system.

Expect it to be announced with the 5D replacement on February 27/28, 2012

Canon Rebel T4i [CR2]

February 22, 2012
Canon T4i

New Rebel
The next Rebel will be announced soon. Perhaps on or around March 2, 2012.

No real specs are available, except that it will come with a new EF-S 18-135 lens with a silent autofocus motor.

More information should arrive soon.

There are apparently invites to press events on March 2, 2012. That could be for the coming 5D, or another product.

New Lenses Coming
The announcement dates for the following lenses haven’t been confirmed. However, they will be coming sooner rather than later.

EF-S 18-135 II
This lens will have a silent autofocus motor geared to video. It will arrive with the new Rebel T4i. This has shown up in a US retailer inventory system. No price for the kit with the T4i.

EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4X
This highly anticipated lens will be officially announced shortly. The price will most likely be $10,999 USD.

EF 40 f/2.8 Pancake
I think it’ll be EF, but a 40 f/2.8 Pancake lens is coming. Expect it to be announced either with the 5D or shortly after.

EF 40 Pancake???? Interesting..... let's see the MTF.........

The new FF selling US$3,500... how much do you think it will cost in Singapore??

Most happy is the Flash announced.... but still, gotta wait and see how it performance!!! :)

Acceptable is only if Canon will do a 1-to-1 trade up from 5D2 to 5D3/X at no extra cost. They owe us the AF in 5D2.

Hmm okay, perhaps I'll top up $300 for the 3.2" LCD, 1mp improvement etc.

why has it got to be more ex? replacement model should cost around the same.
this is like a 30% price hike. :dunno:

Looking at the rumoured specs, this new FF, placed below the 1DX, seems to be a merge of the 5D2 & 7D. If that's so, then there will be another higher pixel FF, either to be announced simultaneously or later. Anyway, I will return to Canon for the new 5D2 replacement, 22mp, faster and definitely much better IQ than the 5D2. Video on this one will also be my one of my main reason.

more WTS: 5D (MKII) will appear in BnS real soon

May be got extra feature, like AA filter selectable, swivel LCD, built in flash or other stuff added.

I just got an invite from Canon SG for an event on 2nd March.

SPEED. QUALITY.
How do these matter to you in the world of imaging?

Hmm...

Wow looks like the D800 really forced Canon's hand this time round; I stand corrected on my previous predictions.

If it is going to be a 1Dx junior then USD 3.5k is quite a steal really....
