You have not been educated about the realm of Birkins yet... ... Very sure you'll go  ...
birkins are amazing... and most people will admit they are not very nice looking bags but they still want one.

How so? Is this something you've tested?
Darn i bought wrong cam, got cheated :bsmilie:
Will sell away my 5dmk2 and downgrade to 450D. Save money some more :bsmilie:
hahaha... dun say like that leh... i also intend to get 5D2 too...
but seriously, i tested at home and tested with my friend at night, 450D and 7D focusing is faster then 5D2 and the faster that can focus the object was 7D.
I been doing this test due to i'm upgrading my cam for wedding photography. so now i think i'll getting the 5d2 is due the FF and the wide angle it can give. as for 7D, i feel that it will be better for sport and bird shooting as it have better and faster AF and high speed FPS.
perhaps you can share the image of the item the 5D2 was having difficulting locking focus on, find it quite hard to believe the 450d AF is better than the 5D2 haha....because i owned the 450D before, and the 5D2 definitely gave me much higher % keepers and in focus shots compared to the 450d..or maybe cuz i have been using better and better lens with the full frame camera hmmm....

I have no doubt 7D AF better than 5DII
But 450D? hmmm.... hardly to believe. Either human error, different condition of testing or camera faulty
if got error, i believe will be the camera error. cos we been using tripod aiming at same object, same timing, same setting n we did try on double confirm by testing it for 3 times... this also suprise me.
Based on your own tests, and your own conclusions, why would you get a 5dmk2 if you think the AF is worse than your current 450D?
cos of the pic quality in ISO3200, the increase of 1/2 stop shutter speed and have wider angler for me to cover most of the shoot i need in wedding AD shoot when using onli 24-105L f4... and for the slow AF, I can mount a flash gun to help it to focusing the object.
IQ is indeed great, but if you can't focus there's not point to any of the other benefits? But, I think you'll actually be pretty happy with the AF on the 5dmk2 once you start using it. Mounting an external flash so you can shoot low light, seems like a heavy solution to casual shooting (outside of events/weddings).
it still able to focus but is juz slower, i been trying out the 5Dmk2 i borrow from my friend to shoot on last sunday on my friend Wedding AD. for the morning n outdoor shoot is pretty gd, but it juz on the dinner when they march in that time got a bit of problem to focus it fast. but overall i'm still very happy with 5Dmk2 for wedding n event shoot. but if for sport n birding, i'll choose 7D.
if for casual shooting, think i wont use flash gun at all. unless shooting ppl in the mid afternoon or at nite.![]()
mate you must have something wrong with your autofocusing system or something... i can shoot soccer fine with my 5dmkII... if it can track that im pretty sure it shouldnt have a problem with a rather still object...
maybe i need to let my friend know his 5Dmk2 Autofocusing system might have some problem. i also feel strange abt the AF on his 5Dmk2.
My 5DMkII only have problem focusing in the dark where there is no contrast. That's when I have to attach a flash and use the focus assist to aid. Maybe the built-in flash of your 450D did a pre flash without you noticing it.
Maybe you can try using faster lenses, ie f2.8 and wider. 5DMkII have focus assist points that are sensitive only to these faster lenses.
I noticed that no one is selling any used 5D Mark II. Is that camera such a keeper no one is selling a used one so long after its release??
I think that is because your 450D did a preflash. I am very sure the 5D Mk2 can focus perfectly fine in low light. And of course, f4 is NOT FAST.maybe i need to let my friend know his 5Dmk2 Autofocusing system might have some problem. i also feel strange abt the AF on his 5Dmk2.
