yup, your 70-200 with 2x extender will make it 520mm f/5.6 or f/8 at it's longest end, good enough for some general wildlife

A 70-200mm is hardly enough. My wildlife photography mentor and his friends use at least 500mm lenses. And they typically use 1.4x teleconverter - 2x teleconverters aren't that good optically.

i prefer 35L or 50L. dont like 85L for walkaround.. heavy and slow..
