Canon 400D or Nikon D40?

400D is good and cheaper..it can be used for guys & gals.. I am a 400D user

It is light without grip....especially when juz mount on the 50mm 1.8 lens with it...it super light!!! But guys will prefer it to go with grip as they will have a full grip of their hands on the body, you can put even put AA batteries or 2 batteries into the battery grip.

You cannot compare like that, these two camera have each different functions. For me I do not get either one, I will go for semi-pro DSLR, like Nikon D200 or Canon 5D

would you let a bunch of strangers decide who you should marry? ... no? didnt think so.

its the same with camera choice. cos its a decision u will be stuck with.

both are good cameras, but each has individual quirks, pros and cons. so you should read up on both, go and handle both cameras extensively and make the decision yourself.

Just go to any store & hold both cameras in your hand. Whichever camera feels most comfortable in your hands and how easy (or difficult)you operate the camera would determine which camera you should be getting.

sigh. i wish the mods would post a canon v nikon FAQ and link all the previous threads on this issue.. its really quite silly.

can get one canon photog and one nike photog to sit down and write an objective write up of thing various pros and cons and the things to look out for.
