Just tried to use a few new features like spot metering and picture styles. LCD is really big!

Too bad i din bring my CF card along.

hmm i always tot the in canon line up, the bigger the no..the lower range it is.. how come 30D is more ex than 20D?...
except for the bigger LCD.. bascially the functions is about the same is 20D right?
hopefully 20D kit will drop below 2k... haha..:bsmilie:

When 20D was 1st launched it was $2.9-3k if I remember correctly. 30D is damn cheap already ler!

Last week I saw AP sell 20D body for only $1900. I would expect 2nd hand 20D price to drop significantly soon.

Just played with it in IT Show 2006 during lunch time.

$2499 - body only
$2669 - with kit lens

It comes with 2 Sandisk 1GB CF cards and lots of other freebies.

MS Color quoted me $2280 without any freebie. So it seems like IT Show might be a better deal then. :think:

Yeah, 2 Sandisk 1GB CF card and a Canon printer given free! That alone cost a lot already.

Yes...maybe i'll get the 30D by the end of this year cos i haven't started working yet so have to save for a few mths b4 i can start buying.

The 5D is of cos my dream cam but it's too costly.

I second that. Will seem familiar to 10D users. Thot the sound of the 5fps was pleasant too.
But strangely, I could get the focus point selecton button of the display unit to work despite being in Av mode.

I explicitly asked MS & CP about the freebies. MS mentioned bare body only without any freebie ($2280) while CP will give a 1GB CF card and Lens Book ($2350). Though I think probably different customer might have different offering depend on their relationship with the camera shop!:dunno:

If that is the case, it must have been that the place was too noisy even at 2-plus this afternoon when there were less people cos' I thought the sound was rather pleasant.
