What was meant in what you quoted above is that
1. Yes, the seller is to blame, for not revealing that the tripod was spoilt,

BUT ALSO
2. The buyer was to blame, for not checking properly.

Please re-read before laying on the hysterics, specifically the "?" and the "!!!".

Cheating is still cheating, be it $40 or $4000 and the TS has every right to warn us about that. It your own personal preference but many of us here has gotten great deals and had good experience with 2nd hand BnS.

Total agree, cheating mean cheating, should ban those seller from selling things here. Sooner or later, here will be black listed if no one going to do something. Is good that the buyer sound out so that those people out there know what happen like me, Somehow I feel that those who side the seller should know who him/her is.

I don't understand what on earth is wrong with my logic, maybe you can point it out.
Seller is at fault: he did not advertise the faults in tripod.
Buyer is also at fault: he did not check item properly.

Perhaps you can explain why, by putting blame on both the buyer and seller, there is something wrong with my upbringing, peers and inner nature? Don't be so quick to defend TS. Sure, some people have a lack of morals/are out to cheat. But you don't need to make sweeping statements like the one above, as if you're an angel yourself.

TS has the right to warn us about cheating, but also to show us that you better jolly well check whatever item you're buying before handing over the money.

As buyers, a seller who cheats is a seller who cheats, fullstop. If someone wants to cheat you, you can't do anything about what he's doing, and no matter how big your blacklist is, there will always be people trying to make a quick profit.

So, simply, check before you buy. Fullstop. It's your money anyway.

this is clearly a very lousy seller trying to cheat.. such type of seller shld rot in hell.. clearly know of the damage n still sell it without informing buyer.. I pity the ts.. but then again, it's buyer responsibility to check.. we shld be alert because there is still some scum cheap skate seller out there who wanted to get rid of their spoilt item.. hell u go!!!

Whether new or old, you should always check everything you buy. If there is no time to check, don't buy first, wait till seller and buyer both have time to check properly. If you don't check the item before you buy it, you are just stupid and opening yourself up for people to cheat on you. If you had known that the seller had to get back to work immediately after the transaction, just arrange another time with the buyer.

Next time its better to deal outside the mrt and carefully checked the item before paying.
Now i throw away this tripod to erase my bad experience from this guy.

Actually, I feel it's better to deal within the MRT station compound as there are CCTVs covering the area... :bsmilie:

something to share.

when I sell something, I ask potential buyers to meet at coffee shop near my block to view and deal, or else no deal.

when I want to buy something, I will meet sellers at his convenient place.

and it is wise to choose a place which is bright enough and able to examine the items comfortably. ones can always walk away from a deal if he feels not right.
