Can recommend a motorised slider with remote control ?

HI there,

I am thinking of getting a motorised slider (so that the speed can be controlled & constant) to improve the video clips & make it more interesting.

Can some experts here recommend some reasonably good motorised slider that comes with remote control ?

Budget under $1K.

Thanks

I using this http://www.vediamod.com/collections...-motorized-kit-l1000-slidecam-lite-1000-100cm can control the speed. Very consistent and easy to use

Thanks timelapse.

I noticed that it says that battery is not included.

Q1. Can I know what battery it uses & where you buy it from ? Also where you buy the charger ?

Q2. Is the low speed of 5 mins/ 1 metre slow enough for timelapse ?

Q3. What do you think of this:

Camtree e-slider ?

It even has a remote control, not so sure if it includes the fluid head though ...

Thanks

IThink you should look at the korean products, should fit in your budget

I bought the konova 60 cm. had always wanted to fit it w the motorized control but could never figure out how to buy them. Also looking for some help in that area. Haha

The battery you can get it from the same website/ebay/ or maybe sim lim tower/sq (12V Battery)
That motorised slider mainly use for doing video, If you doing time lapse you will get a something specialized for time lapse.

You doing for time lapse, me too doing time lapse.

https://vimeo.com/63785434 u can see what this thing can do from here <<<<<<<

http://www.vediamod.com/collections/time-lapse/products/timeroid-set-body-1-5-axis-controller >> i bought this for my time lapse. You can try ask about the pricing if you getting a bundle.

I use that motorised slider for doing video, if you doing for time lapse you can get that. So far that controller i tried it once and it's very easy to use. If you need to use it for some video slider, it have a function of non-stop moving function.

That function is like a normal motorised slider just keep moving to the other end of the slider. But for me i use it to do move-stop-move. Move and shoot and move again.

Just check out the video and u will understand more ;)

Thanks but it from the pictures in the packaging list, I don't think they show a charger. So where do we buy the charger ?

Thanks bro.

But i am confused now. Why do we need another specialised motorised controller to to do timelapse ?

As I understand from the video, that motorised controller is like a intervelormeter which GH3 has that function built-in into the camera (so do i need the motorised controller for time lapse ?). So can't the earlier motorised slider be sufficient by setting it to the lowest speed ?

Or is the motorised controller's function is to stop the moving slider when the camera is taking a shot ?

I also don't understand why at the end of the video, it shows the camera rotating ? Is it the motorised controller can control the camera to rotate as it moves ?

So, you actually pay $740 for the motorised slider and then another $760 for the motorised controller ?

Why is the motorised controller so expensive at $760 which does not even include the slider, right ?

Thanks

1)As I understand from the video, that motorised controller is like a intervelormeter which GH3 has that function built-in into the camera (so do i need the motorised controller for time lapse ?). So can't the earlier motorised slider be sufficient by setting it to the lowest speed ?

Answer: If your camera have a intervelometer function and you just want a slider able to move from 1 end to the other end using a very slow speed, than just a motorised slider will be enough. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaATH2OnQSA 2:35 onward)

2) Is the motorised controller's function is to stop the moving slider when the camera is taking a shot ?

Answer: This is what the timeroid come in handy, Only timeroid able to achieve the move-stop-shoot-move. With such function the timeroid will control the camera and the slider movement, you can set to shoot a 30sec exposure with every interval. ( Doing night time lapse this is what you need)

3) I also don't understand why at the end of the video, it shows the camera rotating ? Is it the motorised controller can control the camera to rotate as it moves ?

Answer: That is a timeroid, that part is showing you that you can use that on a tripod and it able to do a panning time lapse with the fucntion of Move-stop-shoot-move function/ Non-stop moving function (this function is what u saw on the video keep turning round and round)

4)So, you actually pay $740 for the motorised slider and then another $760 for the motorised controller ?

Answer: Hmm actually i bought the motorised slider before the timeroid come out. And after that i find that i want to do some night time lapse and i just purchase 1 controller (not a timeroid set) http://www.vediamod.com/collections/time-lapse/products/timelapse-controller-timeroid << i bought this to use it together with my motorised slider. What this thing do is able to connect to the motorised slider and command the motorised system to move/stop/shoot. The $760 set is a controller and also a body for it to allow your slider to move, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTTFCiB3lBI ) 3min onward. I plug in the timeroid to the motorised system like how the video is showing.

5) Why is the motorised controller so expensive at $760 which does not even include the slider, right ?

Answer: You mean the timeroid controller. That is a full set with controller and body (the body is another device, the timeroid controller is a brain and the body is like a slave. without the body with just controller you cant make any movement)

Hmm maybe you can contact the person that is selling, he is very friendly and he explain everything very detail. In case i miss out or misleading you any information as im also still trying out.

Ok thanks timelapse ... understand liao ...

Ok one last thing, I think I read somewhere it says that the battery last only 20 mins. Is that true ?

If that is true, then how many batteries you bought ?

Can PM me where in Sim Lim Square did you buy the battery (since the slider does not come with slider) ?

Thanks again ...

I only bought 1 battery and was from them but was told is out of stock at the moment, http://www.vediamod.com/collections/motorroid/products/battery-12v-4800mah-lithium-ion .

I don't think only 20 minute, i use that battery for alot of time lapse and never once is flat lol. if you are afraid of your battery not enff you can get Higher mAh. I recently order mine from this ebay selling and waiting for the item to reach

http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/290728800022?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

This battery is 3 times higher MAH than what i have now LOL.

When did you order ? I mean how long will it to reach you upon ordering ?

This is good price as it is cheaper and yet last 3 times longer !!

Thanks

Come with charger. Hmm as this is a "rechargable battery sort of thing i think all should come with a charger"

Hmm i dont know about the quality because abit too good to be true but i buy 1 just to try and see. I order last week

Thanks but does this include the charger ?

Hi timelapse,

To take a rotating time video, will the timeroid body alone be enough since it also has motor by itself !

Will timeroid body be able to turn clock wise & counter-clockwise by itself ?

Will the timerroid body itself able to adjust the rotation speed ?

Or the timerroid body needs the timerroid controller for it to function mentioned above ?

Thanks

Will need the controller. The body cant operate by itself.

I am also interested in the Varavon Motorrid Slider. After reading the above, let me recap and check if my understanding is correct.

1. Motorroid only automate the sliding action from left to right.
2. Timeroid controller only instruct the "move, stop, move" action o the motorroid
3. Timeroid body is the one that does the panning while the motorrid is the one that moves from left to right

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong for the above three points.

Do you think the Varavon lite slider will wobble if I load it with a Manfrotto 701 Fluid Head, using Canon 70D with a 24-70L lens?

If I only have the intention to use one tripod to balance it out, would you recommend 800 lite or 1000 lite for the above gears? What type of tripod do I need to ensure the slider is stable and doesn't wobble when the motor is moving?

Sorry for the tons of questions, quite new to this. Want to know more before spending the dollars.

Hi, what you say here i think should be correct lol i'm not pros in all this equipment but mounting a 70D with manfrotto 701 fluid head will not wobble. If you just want to mount on 1 tripod the best choice is slidecam Lite 600/800. Slidecam 1000 is really too long and i don't think that 1 tripod will able to support it.

If you are using a motorised slider mounting on a tripod that is strong enough to hold i don't think theres any wobble. I use a motorised slider because of the consistent speed wont need to spend alot time practicing on sliding lol.

hmm maybe you can call http://www.vediamod.com/ the hotline maybe he can help you better.

The slider is good enough to hold 9kg i think suitable for all DSLR. I mount my 5D3 with 24-70 there's no issue
