Last thing I want to do is to ise this forum to complain but these really disappoint me. I think they are the same as sgcamerastore.

I got the wrong size light tent and Wanted to exchange it for something bigger. But they said there's smudges that I had caused and retused to change. I only had it for 2 days and tried using it for 30mins before I decided its too small.

I cannot verify if I had caused it as they insisted they wont sell me something dirty. However there is a corrosion mark from the metal frame and in 2 days time I cant be causing that too.

Lesson learnt, just inspect carefully things you buy from Sg Camera Store in Excelsior.
 

this is not a case of buyer beware.. but you should have checked before taking the light tent home.

when i bought my PT-04 from them last year, i made sure to check on the spot. i bought 1 trigger and 2 receivers. however, although i tested the receivers on the spot, one of them couldn't trigger soon after, and i called them to make an exchange. at first they wanted me to wait a week so they could send it back to the manufacturer for repairs, but i told them that i needed the receiver in a couple of days and couldn't wait, as i had a job to do.

they were willing to take the damaged set and give me a new one as replacement. quite good service from them
 

If I were the shop owner, I also would not take take a dirty light tent cos who wants to buy a dirty light tent?? A light tent has to be pure white right.

You are right, you should have check carefully before paying and do your homework on the size required too. Further more you can't 100% confirm who made the tent dirty. Sorry, i sound so harsh typing all these....

I agree with kei1309 , bought several items from them before was very surprise that the service was good ,one incident that I bought a filter from them and paid for it , just before stepping out the shop I drop the filter and omg I heard a breaking sound dame filter was broken , but the sales immediate got another one for me even it was not their fault . I was grateful for the exchange . As u mention , it was natural of them not to change as since u mention item was dirty -no one will take it back - take it a lesson learn , check before leaving any shop next time

Agree with kei1309 and evilways , sgcamerastore have being very helpful with exchange items i will give them thump up for that service . sometime it could be due manufacturing fault , so no one is to be blame , just next time check before buying . But bro u mention u already used the item for 30 mins - it already consider used second hand item , so not surprise by accident it may have got dirty some how not saying it your fault , so any shop owners see it dirty already , how to expect them to take back and resell again . Anyway do a check of any item before going out of any store next time.

TS, I think since there's a chance that you might have dirtied the softbox, the shop is not obligated to make an exchange for you. Next time, check the products before paying. The shop is not at fault this time.
 

Well...I have purchased something from them previously & no complains abt them.I think its not only abt them...i believe any other shops would not honour or exchange for something which is not of "mint" condition right?In order to protect your benefit pls kindly remember to take sometime to double or even triple check the condition of the items before parting with your $$$.just my 2 cents...
 

I'm just wondering how the upcoming "lemon law" is applied in this case.
 

Very nice to see, very nice to touch. Once broken, considered sold.

The shop owner isn't 24/7 with you. How does he knows if the stain is due to his issue or your handling? He is willing to take it back and trade up if the condition is good means a certain degree of good service.

The lesson you should learn is to check your purchases at the shop itself before laying down the cash. Be it SgCameraStore, or any other store at which you buy anything other thing, regardless of price. If the product fails to meet your expectation, simply request for another set, for as long as the store still has spare sets. imho, claiming that you couldn't have caused that stain in a short time-span, that would not have been a strong justification.

Personally, I have bought lots of small accessories from SgCameraStore, as well as ArtWorkFoto. Most items would pass a decent inspection. A few stuff, like a dent in the umbrella spoke or that bad stain on the reflector surface, was shown to the storekeeper on the spot and they simply got another copy for me. It is definitely your responsibility to check the item till you are satisfied, before parting with your cash.
