Camera Hospital

Finally broke down and decided to try out Camera Hospital which many here on this forum have highly recommended. I had a broken XPAN and Chiif suggested I try Steven. Took all my 3 camera down, the xpan with a broken shutter, the Olympus 35SP with grinding sound in the focus and my Contax G 45mm which was mis-aligned.

I am happy to report that I got it back within 2 weeks, quite incredible considering the XPAN had to get parts elsewhere.

might be going down to send my canonet 28 and canonet 17 to get their seals replaced and check RF alignment and general cleaning. hope it wont cost more than the price i paid for the cameras! haha.

The camera hospital is located at sunshine plaza, within walking distance of dhoby gaut MRT station. It's on the first level, on the side facing the open air car park.

I've had work done by Steven, and have even bought a camera from him.

All I can say is that he is highly capable and very knowledgeable. You can talk to him about anything regarding cameras and what you'd get is a very astute and comprehensive response.

He is also very honest, reliable and amiable, and I wouldn't hesitate dealing with him again. Highly recommended.

While you're at Sunshine Plaza, you can also try the Dim Sum at Victor's Kitchen. :thumbsup:

Just a side topic. I have bought my cameras to P & G (David) at aldelphi for CLA for some items all these while. But never hear any feedback so far. Is prices and service more better or value at Camera Hospital?

i was there i think on Thursday and yesterday Saturday. I took the photos when I picked up the XPAN camera.

Last I remember, 12.30 to 6.30 pm on weekdays. I could be wrong though.

I had tried camera hospital for an impossible mission to fix the shutter for my tiny Agat 18k. A bit pricy to a student pocket, but worthy.

Just got my lens cleaned by Steven, who upon realising that it was my 1st lens, decided to throw in a freebie and even a discount! Maybe because he already 'chope' my lens, if I decide to sell it off Friendly environment, even had a good chat with his wife and kids.
Definitely not intimidating to noobs like me.

There are a few 2nd hand DSLRs, not sure about the price. Alternatively you can wait for a really good deal to come by in CS Sales section. Good luck!
