Alternatively if E-PL5 is bundled with the new body cap lens, that might be interesting.

I was hoping that one of these cameras will share the same battery as OMD so that when used as backup, it would be totally convenient when travelling.

I'm interested in the body only. I already have three 14-42mm kit lens and I do not intend to add more in the storage.
Why can't Panasonic and Olympus sell body only? Is it more profitable that way to sell with kit lens?

Understand that the camera bought in Japan is in Japanese language.
But if flash it with english version firmware, will the menu becomes english language? Or Can I ask Panasonic Service Center to do it. I don't mind paying for the service to do it.

I think I'm going to get this. I never did like the "mini-SLR" look of the OMD and the buttons look more logically organized. Perhaps without weather sealing, they won't be so rubbery. May have to get the EVF though... and only reason I'll keep the OMD should I get this may be the weather sealing.

Given the price points of this guy, it's kind of swayed me from the RX100 to this. Hold off your horses on the EVF, apparently Oly might come up with a refreshed version of the present EVF...

RX100 app has poor metering. Shots can be 1 stop off according to Ming Thein.

RX100 is a lot smaller and a camera aimed for different users though. Having said that, at that price, I'd get the E-PL5 and still gain the flexibility of changing lens.
