After all those who have ordered have collected , only 2 units remain .
Due to world wide demand and shortage , next shipment is in late November .
Don't miss this reliable Battery that can power and have 600 full power flashes at 500W.
Now we can have outdoor power by using our monolight D1 .
Can charge our laptops as well on the other socket .

Hello to all!

Ok, I don't know if this has been asked and I don't know if I am in the right section to ask this, but I have a question and would like your input if someone has expereinced this and can tell me more about it.
I have a studio of about 6m x 8m, height about 3m and have a good deal on some profoto compact 600R lights. As I am new to lighting I don't know if 2 of this compact 600R would be enough for the purpose I intend. Mostly I want to use them for fashion/commercial/beauty kind of shots and I immagined for example having 2 models and using 2 large SB (think of the Creative lights 120cm x 180cm), which would be placed left and right of the 2 models. Now, if the Softboxes are 2m away on both sides, will the models be lit up from head to toe completely, will I get a proper exposure with f/11 or f/8?

Are 2x ComPact 600R sufficient?
What would I gain with getting an Acute 1200R pack and two lights?
Do I think correctly: when having an Acute 1200R Pack and 2 lights, that the maximum output of this pack can be 2x 600W/s if using both lights at the same time?
So it would be the same amount that the Compact 600R lights can produce?
Ok, the Acute is probably faster, but actually right now I think I don't need fast recycling times.

Or are 600W/s monolights in such an example with 2 models not enough power and you just need more W/s to light everything up properly?
On the other hand, having lights of more W/s can give me at the best one f/stop, so I can't really gain that much from investing in 2 more powerful monolights?

I can't post pictures to show you what I mean, as they are protected by copyright. But think of a fashion or commercial photography with 2 models, and everything is exposed properly. What power would be sufficient?

Thanks for any comments and help!

goranzg, you'd be stretched with 600Ws monoblocs because you'd be constrained by the length of the powercord. Remember the monoblocs are simply powered by a 5M 13A power cord. If you have 4 you'd be constrained by the length of the powercord for each - and this is assuming you just want to place the softboxes at a particular spot. Supposing you need to raise the softboxes higher as such - you'd be in a spot to climb up and make changes. If you are shooting fashion - I'd expect a fair amount of power-changing. You'd be constantly metering and changing light output power.
An Acute2 1200 will do the job very well.
Two generators, 3 or 4 heads - will do the job and keep you from having to 'upgrade' in future. The flexibility and extra power is priceless. You might want to shoot using a beauty dish when you get better and a monobloc - while it is adequate, it will be a big hassle when it comes to adjusting power output etc. For fashion/commercial/beauty - go with the Acutes. You can't go wrong. I'm speaking from a practical usability/productivity standpoint.
The Acute2s have 3 sockets - so you can actually go for 1 generator 3 heads and if you're shooting using a DSLR - F8 at 1/250, i'm pretty sure it's still enough power. Each Acute/D4 head comes with a 5M cable from the generator to the head. So you still have more than enough cord length to position your heads.

Heard grandmaster Denis is asking master Eujin to test out the Bat pack and write about it .
Waiting for the masters comments. . .

At the Photokina 2010 , Profoto launched ProTungsten Air .
This will probably start a new line for imaging with Continous Light .
Has 500 or 1000W and can use almost all existing accessories.
Also , there is a ProDaylight Air 400 and 800W.
Good for photographers at the crossover stage to CGI .
Production of these lights will start soon .
