I'm opening up this free service to TEN dog lovers from CS. Here's your chance to immortalise that moment with your pet, in a studio setting.

Reason for doing this is for advertisment and publicity purposes. You'll get to keep the digital images and if only when you wish to have a printout of them, you'll pay for it. Other than that, no hidden costs so long your pet soils/pee on the backdrop :D

Preferably those who stay around West area.

I'm more for lifestyle (naturalistic) If you would like to see a sample of it, this is what I mean:

Sample gallery

Please drop me a PM or email me ljkean@msn.com. Pls include your contact no. and if possible, a photo of your dog and yourself.

Cheers!

Poor dogs....

just how many times did you flash your dog to get that picture you once posted here in clubsnap?

poor doggy of yours

yeah Cherlyn. Totally agree with u on that one. Didn't know flash would hurt their eyes - used to take for my cats but have stopped & would only take with available light.

;( Nice try but its not working! Stop exploiting people's pets and trust.

If you want to build portfolio - go elsewhere. :thumbsd:

Well, Guys...dun fall for his tricks to let him shoot yr beloved furkids!!!

He's either asking for free assistants or free doggy models!!!

Even if you pay me to lend you my dog, I also not interested!

Not all people like to carry your gears for you so that they can have a chance to play with it.

WAKE UP LOR!!!

LOL!!!

I don't see any problems with using softboxes.......he is using these on the pics shown on his portfolio.....please be more realistic with your comments here......softboxes will not hurt the dogs eyes! As such I really don't understand the hooha exposed here........for those who are ignorant about flashes, softboxes, as the name says it: it softens the flashlight! If he used normal flashlight, ok, I would have agreed, it also hurt human eyes. But it is not that bad it would permanenetly blind them? Dogs eyes are more sensitive.....therefore more consideration should be given on this, also for sound. Personally, I would say: if you are a dog and in general: an animal lover.....let them live in freedom.....

Personally, I would say: if you are a dog and in general: an animal lover.....let them live in freedom.....

What I meant is that I have seen many people claiming they are animal lovers and then seeing they have birds in cages........fish in fish-tanks........etc.,etc,.....

As for some suggesting that canturn trying to get some free deals by asking people and their pets to be photograph: this may well be induced by him asking for free helpers for his NDP03 assignment.......although I understand that, I think he meant it well, he said that he willl give them the option of buying the prints of the pics if they like them, the people will get the images anyway and can printe them themselves. So, it works both ways, he gets some extra photo's for his portfolio and the pets owners get free images done, just that they have to print them themselves. It is only for the prints that they don't do themselves that they have to pay. I see nothing wrong with this..............

Takes a person like Hongsien to know how the shot is done, go ask him how he can tell it's taken with softboxes.

If you look carefully at the picture, you'll know that the flash is not direct, nor is the light source in anyway harsh. Same principal applies to portraiture for young infants.

I'm a very straight forward person, if think the flash is going to hurt or blind your poor pet, then you don't trust the photographer, so please ignore this thread.

This world is made up of all types of people. To the nasty people who reply to your thread, there's a technical term for them. They are call "Jerk". Simple as that.

why not do it outdoors? i always prefer taking animals outdoor, more natural, more things to do and the dogs/cats are happier.
wait for a bright day, no need flash at all.

canturn, thks for the kind offer. all the best.

it constantly amazes me how antagonistic some people can be. if you don't like it or think it's not right, you still don't have to be rude.

Tough luck.

Nothing is free in this world...
I rather have a good and fun time paying for such an service to get my pet's picture taken rather than trying to fake smiles facing ....

I agreed to that. But nothing beats a studio shoot where lightings can be controlled. However, taking animals take alot of patience. Usually the best shoots are the candid ones.

Animals and childrens are the toughest to take. Whoever wants to take up the challenge gotta be prepared to be hell lots of patience!!

hi, sorry canturn. i shouldn't have brought my personal opinions into this post of yours :)

cheers! :p

May I ask how I was being 'rude'? :)

Radish: I'm not forcing anyone to be my assistant for the NDP, but there are people who are genuinely interested and have PM or emailed me. Might be interested to know that people are offering to be my assisant for these doggie shot now. ;)

Some peez in CS just have a very loose tongue anyway, I'm least bothered by that, so long I get my job done.

Btw, the cover for this month's STYLE magazine has Zoe Tay posing with her Schnauzer. Maybe some passionate activists here would like to go protest outside STYLE magazine's office or perhaps make a report to SPCA against the studio photographer for making $$$ out of Zoe's poor dog (oh yea, at least 2 studio flash were used for that shot, I only used 1).

Whats so evil here? Photography? By not taking any photos with pets doesn't make you less evil either.
