i find canon prices very good in HK. As for Nikon, doesn't seem to be much cheaper than SG.

for nikon or canon?

i believe both canon and nikon are cheaper in hk. we have a friend who is a singapore resident who asks another friend of ours to buy his gears in hk since they are cheaper. even the lowepro bags are cheaper in hk. singapore has GST, hk has no tax...

when i was there in singapore last july i was planning to buy a lens but i ended up not buying anything. i know the HK prices and when i was comparing the prices, singapore is about 10% more expensive than hk. or maybe i just don't know where to ask... hihihi :D

Tin Cheung does a lot of "shui huo" or parallel imports a.k.a. grey sets. So make sure you get one with intl. warranty.

yes you can actually ask them is you like a grey unit or a unit with international warranty :)

Hi... does anyone know what's the HKD-SG exchange rate for Citibank Credit cards? need to confirm if the conversion (hence savings) is correct :P

oops... didn't know until just now when i tried that Citibank do have a phone-banking service on Exchange rates... :)

Hi guys...

Seems like Tin-Cheung's prices for Sigma not bad... but from their website it seems that they only have Cannon filters... Anyone else bought sigma lenses together with filters and step-up rings? any recommendations ?

I'm just asking coz sometimes buying the filters (UV/NC and step-up rings + CPL) may get a better deal?

thanks in advance :)

i believe they don't update the prices in their website that often. i've bought Nikon filters from them although they don't list the price in their website

Thx dni423... do u know if they carry Marumi filters? Read in other threads that Marumi slim CPL is quite good and can be capped...

sorry i'm not sure if they sell Marumi filters.

What nikon filters have you brought from them and how much?

Thanks in advance for the info. :)

I just visited Wing Shin yesterday. The price of CANON EOS 400D body is about SGD 1050 (with present exchange rate of SGD1 = HKD4.8).

But consider this is without GST and consider grey set - without international warranty. If you live in HK for next 12 months, it may be worth to purchase it in HK but if you purchase a grey set in Singapore with GST, it could be about the same or even cheaper.

The Fujifilm FinePix F31fd is about SGD510 with 1 x 1GB xD card. While in Singapore, it cost S$509 (with GST and local warranty) with similar or better freebies.

The EOS 5D is not worth to purchase here as it is about SGD3825 and I purchased on @ about the same value that included GST. Take away GST, the price will be <S$3600.

The only thing that is worth purchase is clothing in HK especially winter jackets.

Cheers!

Just for information, the HKD is really low now, S$1 = HKD 5.08. Just bought the Sigma 50-150 from HK, cost me HKD4600 with international warranty, if without less HKD300.

Any chance you can find out the price of the Nikon D80, body and with the 18-135mm lens kit please?

Thanks
P

BTW the Canon 400D is 1430 in SG plus a 2gb card from MS
