hi, anyone know what is the best price you can get for 7d? and does it come with a kit lens?

I have read thru some of the posts and notice that some of you were saying that a newer model will be replacing the 7d soon, so do you guys think it is wise to get the 7d now?

Wait for PMA 2006 in Feb. U should get a clearer picture of the direction KM is taking and if they will choose to renew the 7D at this point.

When I bought mine, it is BODY ONLY. so I am not sure if it comes with kit lens or not nowadays.

There were rumor about newer body to replace 7D, but unless it is already hit the market, it still nothing.

To be honest, 7D is adequate for most applications... I shoot wedding and portrait and the only complaint I have is the Pre-flash TTL from the flash, but often, I shoot with manual flash so no problem there.

Unless the AF speed increase quite significantly on the 7D replacement, I don't see the real need for changing. Well, higher MP is expected, but do we really need bigger than 6MP? I am quite happy with 6MP at this stage.....

So the decision is this... if you haven't own a digital camera (which could be a reason for not taking more photos due to the cost of film), you should just buy the 7D and experiment with it and learn the technique... I am sure 7D will serve you well in the next few years.

It is good news if the 7D replacement is out, it simply means that you can buy a 7D at much cheaper price brand new. The second 7D I bought when 5D release was A$1399 with 2 kit lens after cash back.
