Let's tread carefully here, political discussions are off limits. You are asking a irrelevant question (no offence).
Majority of the sg citizen voted for this government team and we decided/trusted them for doing the job well, be it the current car/housing/education scheme thats rolling out, we must have faith on that, its the best solution for the society. So i really shouldn't see and complain here.
Each citizen had his chance to vote for his leader every 5yrs, you made your choice then you should stick with it.

On a general note I have to disagree with you. Casting the vote for a certain party does not mean to give blind faith (a word that is entirely wrong in this context) and 'card blanche' for the entire period till the next elections. On the contrary, in a democracy citizens still have the right and the responsibility to check the government and to express their political opinion. For this, there are several instruments and avenues.
For this, I agree with pinholecam: do not keep quiet if you disagree, use what is given to express your opinion and shape the decision.
After reading on how they will do the tunnel, I think it's OK to cut the nature reserve
They are doing underground 13 storeys below ground. So I'm assuming no trees or animals are affected
Please don't get brainwashed by the American big brothers.
They want you to preserve your nature and do not progress and develop so that we remain a third world country forever needing their economic aids and military support.
Given a choice, I would prefer not to touch our limited nature reserved. But if it is for survival, we have no choice but to do what is needed. If the 'round trip' is about an additional 5 mins or $2 billion and nothing else, I won't vote for it. We all can afford more than 5 mins per trip. $2 billions can be worked out by not spending $39 M for National Day celebration and many other extravagant events. Celebration is about people coming together anywhere, not how much you spent.
Yeah, they spend 1.2B on the silly Gardens by the Bay. How come they didn't ask us for our opinions?
You bros know where you have underdeveloped real estate? Underground...
Can you imagine shopping centers and parking lots and the such built underground?
A respite from the steaming hot day?
Land reclamation will make this country bigger and more powerful.
We can't beat China in this department
