my colleague like to use pictures from newspaper in company newsletter without acknowledgement picture taken from newspaper. The newsletter will be circulated via email within company including oversea branches. We'll also upload to intranet.
some people told me we've to acknowledge pictures taken from newspaper. Anyone know about the copyright issue?

Best is to call the news paper if you want to use their picture. If it is scanned, some acknowledgment has to be made and it must look like scanned from news paper...

wow! you pro liao...thank you for the website...i didn't know abt this PPAS :embrass:
the copyright stated "If you are inclined to publish photographs or works of other people in a compilation, you would need their consent to use their copyrighted material."
I also have the same thinking should check with the newspaper. I think they'll charge us for using the pic. :bsmilie:
unfortunately, don't look like scanned pic. It really look like a normal jpg pic but I knew the boss can't take such good pic. After checking with them they just mentioned pic from newspaper...newspaper meant for public, we can use the pic without problem and nobody talk about copyright including our legal dept ppl.
anyway, I "small fly" no power, only hope i'll not get into trouble because I'm the pic for uploading to intranet. :sweat:

tried to register today but below message appear on the registration page...let's do out own marathon ba...perhaps nature shoot ;p
Dear photographer,
Thank you for your interest in Canon PhotoMarathon Singapore 2010. Registration is now closed.
We have reached the maximum intake of participants and to ensure all registrants are guaranteed a competition slot on event day, we closed the online registration on 10 October 2010.
However, we will be creating a waiting list queue on the event day [October 23, 2010 at Suntec City Hall 401] to cater for interested participants who missed the online registration. If there are vacant competition slots, interested participants on the waiting list will be allowed to register on the spot for the competition.
Subsequent updates on the event will be posted on our Facebook page.
We appreciate your kind understanding.
