Ok, vertical one looks better. Haha. Emphasizes the sunset more I think.

@dearchivism...

pardon this noob question that i am going to ask.. how do u make the Sun
look so big and red instead of the small bright glaring orange thingy that i
see everyday? :(

To gohjialong :
Thank you so much for the opinion as an input for me ;p

To WhiteField :
Some photos at this thread, which the sun looks big red round was capture using fix tele lens 500 mm reflected (mirror). You can imagine if you capture an object with bigger zoom number, the object will become bigger at your frame (photo frame). At the sunset time, the sun color will become more yellow-red compared to other time, and the sky become more reddish ;p

wow! these pictures are beyond amazing!!

Did u photoshop any of them?

to beebeeice :

Thanks alot for your apreciation, i really apreciate that ;p
Most of the photos in this thread have been edited using Photosop CS2, to get the toning and enhancing the photo it self.

simply love your photos. love how it is different from the others. very refreshing indeed.

keep em comin! =)

@Dearchivism

I have read some C&Cs about your photographs and have seen all your photographs and quite frankly, even though texts teach us a set of ideals, but like what you said about photography being a form of art, we should not be bound by ideals and routine. I like how you express yourself in your photos. I appreciate the way in which you break away from the orthodox manner. Photography should be about expressions and emotions and not just following rules.

I used to refer to the clubsnap gallery for inspiration but have found them increasingly (for lack of a better vocabulary) un-inspirational. It has been some time since I've found works that have made me want to leap out of my chair and on to the ground roughing it out for what it's worth! Wonderful job and keep the inspiration flowing!!

Cheers!
Gabriel

Thank you so much for your opinion, and I am really impressed with your deep thinking about photography. Yes, I am totally agree with you, when we can see photography as a form and spirit of art, we will get easier and more freely to explore, to find the unique and interesting way of capture it, to express the emotion / story of it and of course we can find the happiness of doing photography. Let our imagination flowing, let us freely doing the exploration from a-z,let, doing with our own unique + interesting way will lead us closer to “art atmosphere” and it will make us can see what is the “interesting treasure” of each object / scenery / etc in “many ways”. There are a lot of opportunities for us create + develop the interesting + unique photography which is match + worth for us. It also will let us to see the "oppurtunites in photography (with many ways)", not the restriction of photography ;p

To WhiteField :
Might be I didn’t write about the lens 500 mm F8 reflex / mirror properly that why made you abit confusing, so sorry for that. It is a type of lens which is a fixed super telephoto lens with range 500 mm and F8. With this lens (which is dedicated for outdoor shooting with “bright day light”) can make the sun (sunset) looks bigger at the frame. This lens was designed with mirror inside to make the overall lens becomes smaller and lighter (if compared to the normal 500 mm lens) so it is easier to bring out without using monopohod / tripod to hold its weight.
