hi, i quite like some of these, like #11, #23, #59, #129

i did find the sunset/sunrise shots a wee bit too saturated for my liking, to be honest. but perhaps that is personal preference.

to be frank, i did think that a lot of the compositions were a wee bit slipshod, perhaps you are aware, but it is just my humble opinion.. because i have seen what you can visualise, and a lot of these are just not up to that standard....... and it makes viewing this a tad tiresome, because it is such a polarised mix of good and bad. i want to look at your gems, but after page 16, i just had to give up. apologies for that.

something to take note of, some of your image exposures are really haphazard, as to why i am not sure, but things like #170, #171, the water is glowing much brighter than the rest of the scene, which makes the image look overprocessed.

on another note, i notice that lately you've taken to posting vertical + horizontal compositions of the exact same scene. that really perturbs me, because for some of these it is immediately obvious which is superior.

anyways, have a nice day, and keep shooting. it's great to see someone who bothers to shoot singapore.

Thanks a lot for your C&C and what you noted. I do appreciate that and it will become input for me which i will take a note of that ;p
For my understanding, of course in photography which is part of an art (not a part or engineering with all formula, standard, rule, etc), subjectivity will plays a lot here. It is 100% free is some one say A, other say B, C, D, or E until Z. I do appreciate that and respect for the truth opinion which will be useful for my journey in learning photography. Some people would like to give standard of that, which is also fine.

(i just want to share my opinion, not meant to counter anyone C&C)
For my self, “the freedom”, “trying + exploration” is more important rather than just following the standard 100%. I am not say that following the standard is good or bad, but what I try to point out here is “do not limit our own creation just because of the standard”. To bring out our own creation with our own style + our own spirit is more useful and more meaningful for our journey in learning and doing photography. Good or bad, success of failed is one big package that we probably will have to take along our exploration (no paint, no gain). “Be brave to be our own” with our real desire, our real style with all of the risk, is much more positive for our progression in doing photography rather “just only follow the standard 100%” (because we want to play safely and afraid if some one say our photos are weird, bad, etc if we not follow those kind of rules/ standatds). The originality, the style, bringing something different/ new in the spirit of photography (whether it will be appreciated as something good / bad) is more important for me. Just dare be your own, bring out your real desire, make your own creation with your original way will make you stand on “your real feet + your real mind”, and not stand on under other big names of photographers / some “save standards that have to be follow 100%”. I do my pardon and please correct me if my opinion probably not so ideal or even contradictive. Keep on shooting, and have a nice day ;p
 

erm, i wasn't talking about anyone 's standard.

i was talking about what i saw in the few photos i highlighted. but then again, if you do think that all these are of equal standard, then ignore what i said, this will be my last post here.

Photographers personal style and vision matters a lot at times... and it's what differentiate people's works from each other...

Honestly i just want to hear / read the truth opinion from you and others and i also want to share what the truth opinion that i have right now, not mean to counter any C&C. For my self input,C&C, discussion, sharing opinion also an important part of learning photography. Thanks alot for your C&C, again pardon me if what i shared might be not ideal for you. Keep on shooting and posting too ;p

Thanks alot for your C&C. I like your positive and open thinking, i do apriciate that.

(this is only my premature opinion as a beginner, please pardon me if anyone wouldn't agree or have different perspective of it)
What i want to point out here is that everyone probably can do and get a better result in his/her own journey in learning / doing photography and become greater if he/ she can reduce the limitation (the bigger limitation sometimes come from our own mind, which we not dare play not in safety way / not dare to explore something different / new, not dare to do something that not usually done by others, etc). it will be good if we can see some rules, standards, suggestion as a good input, good advice to improve our photography, but it will be bad if we only see those as "one of the limitation" in doing photography. for my self, i do believe most all of us have our own potential in exploring own own style, our own originality awith our own way and our own interest. And please dare to bring out all the potential, all desire, all originality and all of your own in your journey in doing photography, that will be more positive and more constructive. Good or bad, success or fail is one big package that we need to face, and dont be so worried because every experience will give us a good input and will teach us more that will be useful for our next step. And ofcourse there is a new oppurtunity (that probably we never find it before) if we want to explore more, try something new, dare to chatch our dream and follow our heart. Keep on shooting and be your self.....have a nice shooting time friend (s) ;p

I like #227 & #228. You inspired me to try using telephoto lens for landscape. :)

Hey. Absolutely beautiful. You have great eye for composition. But I notice some of photos quite a lots of noise? perhaps you are not using a very good camera?

Thanks alot for your C&C, it really encourages me. For the noise issue, you are right, probably i still need to learn more to handle my camera in a better way to avoid the noise (not because of the camera, probably i not set it and unse it properly)...... ;p
