Thank you so much for your appreciation. In doing photography, sometimes we need to be more patient to get what we want……..and every challenge…..every situation…every phase of lesson that we face….hopefully can bring us one step closer to what we want to achieve / to be. Good or bad thing that we get along doing photography might be useful to create our own background, creativity and style….and at that way also make us can stand on our own photography. Keep on shooting…keep on learning + trying…and keep on exploring…..i am sure you will be as god as what you want to be…even beyond it ;p

When I took this photo, in order to get the sun ray, I wait until the sun was covered by the cloud so the brightness of the sun it self was reduce a lot and at that time (the sun itself too bright if not blocked by the cloud and will brightened most of the sky area of the photos and I found my self lucky when there was a cloud covered the sun), the sun ray which spread from the edge of the cloud (which blocked the sun) would be easier to capture. I also use ND gradient / half color 2 to reduce more brightness of the sky so the sun ray became more appearance. It is important to to get the angle where the background of the sun ray is not so bright so it would not reduce the sun ray appearance. At this photo, the back ground is a thick dark cloud….so it help to make the sun ray to be more appearance. And for my opinion, better to use low ISO (iso 100) and a small aperture (i used f/16) to capture the sun ray…so the ambient light (diffuse light around the location) would not affected / reduce the sun ray appearance a lot. Also with small aperture will make the sun ray become sharper along it's pathway. With Photoshop CS2…I enhanced the brightness + contrast using brightness-contrast tool and I did masking using Curve tool to make the sun ray be come more stunning. Pardon me if there is something not so ideal for this short explanation about what I did during taking this photo. I believe, you and other photographer must be have a better way to capture this kind of photos and will make the better photos too….have a nice shooting time for all of you ;p
