Budget wide angle lens FX

From what I remember, the CA was horrible, just like the initial 200-400.

BTW the only choice to getting AFS 16-35 F4 VR

How bout the AF 20-35mm F2.8D any comments?

Personally, I do not find 20mm wide enough for some uses like landscape. But the 20-35mm is definitely a good lens for events and weddings.

Personally, I don't even find 17mm enough, but I'm just being greedy :)

Abethen... What's call budget on wide angle lens?

Got money why not get the 14-24 f2.8G that is..

I like 14mm...

14-24mm @ 14mm outperform on D800 wow..

How do you think?

To be instead of Zeiss 15mm f2.8?

Actually, what I read so far is the 14-24 does not perform well on the D800 at 14mm... the 16-35 performs better.

I am using the 20-35 f/2.8D and 14-28 f/2.8.. different lenses for different purposes... Tom's reviews are quite spot on: Nikon 20-35mm f/2.8 Nikkor review by Thom Hogan I find that there can be some frindging on the 20-35 f/2.8 (the N coating matters on the newer lenses, and the absence of it on the older lenses matters too). You should do a very careful review of what's available (I did before adding the 14-24mm when comapring with the Nikon 15mm / Sigma 14mm / Nikon 14mm).

There are also previous request for comments on clubsnap regarding Nikon super wides.. Though it may sound overstated: "old technology was for films, newer technology for digital" it is probably true. Having said that, there is always a trade off / balance between $$ and does it really matter and do you really need this???

You got a copy as well? Or is that GP's?

Bro, OT a little, if I do not wish to invest in a SW150, do you think a 100mm filter with a manfrotto plamp can work holding the filters? Or 100mm is simply not wide enough to shoot at 14mm?

is the Sigma 12-24 v2 considered a budget lens at around S$1.3k?

super wide.

i will try this method on my 12-24 this weekend, or by using Blutac. if it works on the 12-24, i think it should too on the 14-24.

update again.

goes well on a bellows for a 300mm macro too =P

They look lovely. Now to wait till one of those lenses hits the market. :-)

You can make do with 130mm filters. Called Cokin X-pro filters.

Also not easy to get right? Let me see if such option is available in sg.
