Not to sound like some diva or anything ... but those 2 days are low tide days, so may have work and guiding stuff to do. Will have to see how.

Happy Birthday to you too.

Looks like you already got yourself a nice present or was it from Mr Lolita? ;) :D

This is in reference to kthan's on siaoon. Lolita syndrome is a phycological disorder describing older man liking young girls. A bit like paediophile.

Looks like thing did move full circle.

Been a Scubapro user almost all my diving life .... so am obviously biased to Scubapro. Same Scubapro regulator (G250) since 1987, and used 2 jacket BCDs (the first was the blue Classic, and now the "new" classic design). Been used in almost all conditions, except for extreme cold water and nitrox - live-onboards, left out in the sun, dived from beaches, not rinsed for weeks etc.

When the regulator lasts that long, price becomes irrelevant, I think.

Old habits die hard ... hehe.

first thing first, i love your avatar. how about posting a full size version? This is afterall a photography forum.

and since this is a photography forum, the higher powers hv decided that non-photography specific questions are OBs, but as for how to do u/w photography w/o reg + bc +tank + mask + fin still baffles me.

So, the latter equipment are all not u/w photography related and hence i think your post will be deleted shortly. but believe me, we are all nice people here, or at least those of us occupying the hierarchy basement.....

now let's get back to your avatar. that is obviously photography related ;)

Use an u/w ROV (remotely operated vehicle), with a camera mounted in front ... viola! No need to reg bc, fins etc :)

considering that most of us do not/cannot afford to own rebreathers or the new aqualung rig with rear exhaust port, i would think bubble interference, inhalation effort at depth and in different positions etc would be important considerations for U/W photography...i'm just looking for advice and not talking about equipment for the sake of it....

hehe, i like my avatar too!

Or you go to your local fish (aquarium) shop, ask for permission and put you housed S2 pro into the tank and shoot. Only your hand need to be wet. :)
Aiya, still need a tank. alright, 4 out of 5 ain't too bad. :D

I am sure those high up in hierarchy will allow this discussion in this thread. Afterall this is the no (little) holds bar, anything (almost) goes place for all our contribution (nonsense). :)

As for the avatar, that is a very interesting point and should definately be further explored.

I have also been using Scubapro since day 1 so cannot give a objective comments.

What I have notice is fishes tend to be more scare by the exhaling bubble noise then your presence. I can be close to a fish at cleaning station holding my breath but once I blow out, immediately the fish will just swim off.

I also remembered watching a documentary about hammerheads also fear wierd noise. What the diver/photographer did to get closer with less bubble noice was to have a seive-like grid to breakup the exhaled bubbles so that the sound is softer.

just back from SE Asia at Funan ....the cam is going for $599 nett now!

wah so cheap.. but macro mode cannot zoom in.. i don't like..

bubbles.. you'll have to learn to breath more gently :D let the fish get use to you.. and let it come to you instead of you chasing it.

imagine you walk on the street then one fish 10x your size walk up to you spraying water.. will you run?

this is the bubbling blabber thread, all posts are allowed, as per our stated guidelines, as long as not inviting legal issues, commercial posting, or wilfully and deliberately insinuating others. if not, siaoon's post of the revoluntionary diving will be the first to go :)

hmmm, sounds very interesting!! will try it next weekend, hoho...

oh, and GITS, welcome to the forum ;)

just to add, besides controlling the volume of your exhaling gas, not making sudden movements help ... for example, if you see your subject some distance away , position yourself in your ready to shoot position (camera in front of your face, desired distance) before you start to creep up to the fella...

just what i tried la, maybe you can give it a try as well :)
