Breakdown on North-South MRT Line

at 9.37am 17 Dec 2011 - CNA TV "LATEST" news - between AMK and Marina Bay train service disruption.

Perhaps SMRT should flash a second message to that "Income Opportunity" one last night.

" 2nd windfall opportunity For those who missed last night frenzy feeding last night, there is a new round serving the leftovers. Available from AMK to Marina Bay. Move in for kill, guys! "

Saw Phaik Hwa
Chief Executive Officer, President, Director, Chairman of Risk Management Committee and Member of Executive Committee, SMRT Corp. Ltd.

Fiscal year 2011:
Salary: $666,303
Bonus: $842,308
Total Annual Compensation: $1,508,611

(Phaik Hwa Saw: Executive Profile & Biography - BusinessWeek.):bsmilie:

Nah, Saw Phaik Hwa is no mere monkey. Definitely, ordinary peanuts won't do lah. She is a big gorilla, so she is paid big peanuts already, you know, the type which is priced at $600k a packet. You can get this kind of $600k peanuts on in Uniquely Singapore, as we are led into the Next Lap of throat-slitting prices.

Saw Phaik Hwa is a real 800kg gorilla, and she has the backing of King Kong and Queen Kong. Though our Transport Minister may also be clutching a few packets of $600k peanuts, he is a mere chimpanzee by comparison, occasionally baring the cursory trademark protruding chimp-like teeth (for wayang purpose). Most of the time, just letting off some condescending chatter like a macaque gone bananas!

Raymond Lim could not do anything and in the end had to be the made the scapegoat and sacrificed on the altar. Not sure if LTY can do anything better.
I think we need to pay more peanuts for better SMRT service.

Sorry, I made some typo, and also included the last line by mistake. (Well it was an honest mistake by the way)

Well, I think breakdowns and disruptions are inevitable in any man-made systems. But in the case, I would single out that "INCOME OPPORTUNITY" as truly world-class and SMRT should be given the Nobel Prize for Opportunism. LTY can go back to Cambodia today, and show the 3rd world nation there how to make quick bucks! Or perhaps we can consider the Enterprise Award for SMRT, truly creative, gutsy

Indeed uniquely singapore!

Yes, i agree. The "INCOME OPPORTUNITY" is truely world-class instead.

Tks to gahmen for the monopoly so we can have photo opportunity n taxi driver got income opportunity..

Xie xie.. Terimah kaseh

I love u

I think he is just plain fed up and take this opportunity to vandalize.

Seriously, I think we need to examine the real meaning of the word "vandalize". In the most simplistic definition, it says "to destroy or damage something".....but one has to qualify this. I would think that "vandalize" only applies if the act is done with the deliberate harm, mischief, material loss, inconvenience, etc to others.

Here, air was running out and breaking the glass should be seen as an act of courage and presence of mind, to avert a potential life-threatening situation. I would commend the guy who did it, as a hero, who dared to think out of the box, and did what was right, instead of doing what "the system" prescribed, ie wait for rescue. SMRT, like the govt, obviously does not like anyone to think out of the box too much, so this morning there was a statement by the SMRT more or less chiding our hero for breaking the glass.

Supposing Saw Phaik Hwa got flipped over in her Lamborghini and it caught fire, trapping her inside. Should a passerby perhaps break the windows or windscreen to pull her out and risk being charged with vandalism ? Or let her burn to death, in the name of not breaking the law ?

If someone had died because of asphyxiation (because of some rigid laws that won't permit live-mode thinking) I think Miss Saw would better be prepared to be roasted alive. A word of thanks to that quick thinking bold man from her would be in good order.

Wat to do... All got trained to be obedient... Gahmen is always right.. They r very capable...

Wonder how r those two admitted to hospital? did our mighty smrt said abt compensation? I just know they asked ppl not to break glass.

Pls rush to hospital with camera... Perhaps u can catch the "income opportunity" message again

To me, if u overcharge n give lousy service, it is worse than vandalism.

SMRT will probably sue those two persons for fainting at the wrong time and marring its reputation. Expect to see new signs posted on the inside of MRT carriages ..... in addition to No Smoking, No Eating, No Drinking,....No Fainting, No Breaking of Glass Panels, No Photo-taking, certainly No CS members :bsmilie:

Don't forget the hero who smashed the window. He might be sued and make to pay for an entire cabin. :bsmilie:

How come that all-time wise-crack Josephine Teo looks so lost and sullen ? I thought she was also another 千手观音, who has a hand in everything? Maybe she is pondering whether to let out that "I don't know what to say" line that was first crafted by TPL.

Probably they will rush back to Cambodia today with a new presentation "Innovative Ways to Get Rich : Waylay your populace with a world-class transport monopoly -- a truly Uniquely Singapore experience"

actually the Immigration also got to be blame.

the infrastructure can only take that much of load, and they keep bring in ppl.

later, ppl complain in GE on overcrowding. the smart-ass puppy suggested increasing the frequency (more trains, less waiting time) to solve the overcrowding problem and to save their ass in cabinet

Worse, the SMRT management LAN LAN say ok despite of the decade-old system so we have a over-stress system.

actually the people of singapore also got to be blame.

always complain slow, long, pack... now we have a partially down MRT

So everybody in deep ****... and frankly everybody is at fault. it is just who got the bigger share of the fault

chicken and egg problem
