Very nice series.

Very Nice..

Where i can get Raynox DCR 250?

Great macro with simple set-up. The lighting is amazing with the self-made diffuser and pop-up flash.

Thanks!

hi! troy, you got some amazing macro shot here. i wanna ask your diffuser is made of what material? did you use built in flash only for these shots? this raynox 250 only can use in prime 50mm f1.8? how about 85mm f1.8?

Thanks! They are made from 2L Meiji milk bottle. Quite easy to cut. I've been using built-in flash + 1 DIY difuser on all my shots prior to these. These are my first shots with 2 x DIY difuser.
The Raynox DCR250 clips onto the end of your lens. I can't recall the exact measurements, but I think it will clip onto anything from 49mm to 67mm (you'll have to search on the exact size). It fits on my 18-105mm kit lens, which is much bigger than the 50mm lens.

Very nice series.

Thanks!

Thanks, you might be lucky to pick one up from the buy/sell thread on CS, otherwise you'll have to try mcgill.com which is where I got mine from almost 3 months ago - $120.
You can do a CS search for "mcgill raynox". Jim McGill sells them.

Nice series Troy. You have improved by a lot...:bsmilie:

Same area where we used to shoot?

Yep, same area you took me to! :bsmilie:
I will go there a few more times until I start seeing new subjects. I need to take more time and wait for better composition (when the subject permits me to).
Only got 2hrs there, because my family was with me.

Nice series..i like it...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks!

superb shots..... n very lovely... ;p

Hi TroyP
Saw you are using 50mm prime combined with Raynox250

Looks damm good.

I also having a 50mm prime f1.7
planning to combined to use with my newly bought raynox250.

Any points to take note of?
:)

Wow....Truly amazed. Did you crop the photo?
I wonder if my 50mm f/1.8 witn raynox can reach that kind of size.

Hmm, well that depends which camera you're using it on. For the Nikon I have to use 2 difusers to cut back on hot spots. The only thing I can comment on the 50mm is that I mostly use the focal length set to 0.45m (closest it will go). The working distance ranges from 8.5cm (0.45m) to 11.5cm (infinity). I only change to infinity if I need to capture a larger image, eg the full body of a dragonfly.

Yep, 50mm + raynox will be the same size.
I crop most of my pics, and then I have to further resize them to fit 1024x image size.

Thanks. Yep, I didn't concentrate on the composition at all, since most of the shots were of subjects that were difficult to get to, or would fly off.

u have improved a lot since u first started!!
great job!
