Bokeh Monster Thread

I seldom use this lens since it came with my Fed2 and I'm not too into RF cameras.
But when I gave it a run thru yesterday on digital, I was pleasantly surprised.
Bokeh is smooth, no multi-lined OOF for linear objects like grass stalks and roundish aperture even stopped down.
All this for a cheap lens that no one bothers with.

Nikkor 105mm f2.5 PC LTM

The ltm version of the nikkor 105mm f2/5, which is a sonnar design.
This was later ported over to the F mount 105/2.5 and then changed to a planar design.

Hi Shizuma, thanks for the compilement and pinhole cam thanks for the like.

Nice shot from the Industar lens pinholecam, sometimes a overlooked lens will perform remarkably well on digital.

Nice shot of the young girl from the very old classic Nikkor 105mm f/2.5mm PC LTM. Sharp & nice defocussed bokeh

Ahh the 105m f/2.5 PC LTM, it was a classic Zeiss sonnar design. Nikon kept it for the F mount 105mm f/2.5 P & F mount 105mm f/2.5 C lens too. The formula was only changed when the 105mm f/2.5 transitioned to AI spec lens. The P lenses are not coated, coatings were only applied from the C lenses onwards.

Due to the sales of the Nikon DF & interest in old lenses, the prices of 105mm f/2.5 have shot through the roof in recent months. It used to quite cheap & easily available a few years back. ;)

Anybody can guess what lens this photo is taken by? It's an LTM lens... Cheers.

Thanks for so much additional info.
I got the LTM one for the Sonnar design.
Maybe the Planar design has become too common and the planar 'look' is too mainstream nowadays, so I opted for this instead.
The F-mount 105mm 'Afghan girl lens' is famous/good/cheap.

100-105mm focal length seem to have died down as a portrait lens option, maybe because of the crop factor of aps-c, which makes it rather long to use.
Good to hear that lenses like the DF has renewed interest (perhaps also with the A7/r)

Very cool!

Nice one! Very under rated lens which imo, easily sits with at least the FD55/1.2 SSC. A lens with a character of its own.

N its quite affordable.

Last time with my Pentax K5 with FA 77mm F1.8 which I sold off to switch to Olympus

Really nice to see the bokeh shots from pinholecam classic Canon 55mm f/1.2. The swirl & bokeh blur is just wonderful.

The bokeh from oceanpriest shot is just out of this world. Awesome swirls.

I'll be signing off for this week. So there will be no more postings from me till I am back to Sg.
