Hi all...I understand that there is this lens which they called the bokeh king.May i know which model is it?And is there different version or improve version to this legend lens? And also i notice that some 35mm f2 summicron asph comes with a white packaging box while some 35mm f2 summicron asph is in silver with black packaging box.Is there any difference?

Bokeh King is Summicron35mm just before the Asph version. Sometimes called pre-Asph or version4. There is Made in Canada & Made in Germany versions. They are the same optically but some prefer German version cos more uncommon. Of course, there is black & chrome version. Chrome cost more. There is also a LHSA version:

Silver is the latest packing style, white just prior to silver.

Again, it's personal preference. Asph performance technically better but some prefer the Bokeh King for its rendition.
But I like the Bokeh King for its size.

Bro, take your time to explore the lenses combination. The beauty about Leica lenses is that you won't lose money when u sell them. I had the bokeh king, but realised I am not a 35mm guy. Mainly collecting 50s. Had the 35 Summilux too and a lovely lens. I am using the 35 cron ASPH right now which is about $300 more than a Bokeh king on the used market.

Either way, both lenses are great! Once you figure out which focal length is suitable for you, you may end up collecting mostly that length but good to have some wide angle in your collection too.

I have a hexanon 28 f2.8, lecia 35 cron ASPH and a Canon 35 f2.0 LTM (The Japanese Bokeh King - cheaper and you get maybe 80% of the Leica Bokeh King shots).

Yep, so called Japanese cron.

But the corners of the lens is not as sharp as the Leica version from what I experience.

The japanese cron is a high contrast lens on B&W. I havent got the chance to test it out on color film yet, I rarely shoot color film. Did try on the M8, but dunno how to see color la :( Eyes tuned to B&W already.......

Hmmm..usually that would mean its going to be one costly 'operation'...:bsmilie:

1 up for the 35 cron ASPH. The most "refine" 35mm lens ever assembled :)

The cron 35 asph is contrasty - a point to note if you are shooting B&W. But again, this is up to individual preference. Some like contrasty B&W, some like to have details in the shadows. This is a very sharp lens though and very pricey as well.

Bro, now you like 35 cron ASPH liao...no flare meh...:bsmilie:

1 up for me too, this is my first Leica lens and a all rounder too...small & light...sexy plastic square hood with distinct Leica "refine" look...sharp and contrasty...which is great for digital camera like TS M9. :)

I owned the so-called "Bokeh King" before but could not figure why it was called the King because it did not deliver fantastic Bokeh. Maybe it was because I did not know hot to use it.:bsmilie:
