Bokeh, Bokeh & More Bokeh!

Bro, you got a rokkor 1.2/58?

Yeah, used to own one piece, the bokeh is superb man, really an intoxication to the senses. But then again, i don't feel comfortable with the focal length and etc, so sold it off.

why do u ask?

Most of them should be straight out of the camera with maybe only color tone corrections, but no additional blur added, otherwise it doesn't really count as bokeh. From what i can see, the only "questionable" entries are in post #8.

Hi bro, can clarify?

Btw, i did not add additional blur. only sharpen for resize. and saturation and vibrance.

Okay. to "clear" my name from "faking" a bokeh pic by adding blur, i shall post a totally unedited pic. Straight from RAW to jpeg.

#1 Original unedited. Not even cropped.

#2 The one i posted in Post #8, which was called "questionable"

This post?

OK... Using kit lens, and f is 5.6 @70mm. Ya... It does look a bit extreme bokeh for kit lens. I try such shot before, but was using Sigma 105mm Macro at f2.8.

:think::think:

now that i think abt it.. ur maybe rite..

Refer to my new post. I simply cannot believe it, that just because you cannot achieve the same effect with the same lens, the pic looks questionable?!?

Gosh, maybe i should not even bother with this post.

Good shots and very nice bokeh here:thumbsup:
However, the kit lens is fantastic that it should never be underestimated ;)

well, u can always buy one off ebay for 450-600 dollars sing, the convert it or adapt it on ure sony dslr.

Here's a sample shot with Minolta SRT101 with the Minolta MC Rokkor 58mm f1.2, Ilford HP5 @ f1.2:

hi bro,

i believe if u have read further, it has already been verified thats its from a kit lens. sorry for harbouring any doubts.

anyway, it simply shows how a simple kit lens can produce brilliant bokeh when used by someone who is skilled enough to exploit it. :)

no hard feelings.
