Beware of purchasing the following lens

I would usually keep my reciepts, problem is some sellers would say that reciept lost or expired warranty already so definitely if you are a newbie you wont know or check whether the stuff you are buying is a stolen one.

If no receipt and no box I would be cautious but sometimes the lenses are really old and you can't expect the boxes to be still around.

Yeah I agree on this that's why sometimes we justr trust our instincts.

just to check do i have more than 100 post :)

Maybe rental shops should consider engraving the name of the shop and contact number on the lenses for rent. This way, buyers will be alerted and can call to verify if necessary.

Any updates?

We have received notification from the boy's mother's lawyer that they have the intention to make restitution from the sales proceeds of a flat. However according to this lawyer from AP Dendroff, they will only proceed once this Police case and investigation is concluded. In the meanwhile, we are sustaining considerable potential loss of revenue with the absence of these two copies of lens. We feel that if the pace of this Police investigation were to be improved, it will certainly do much good to the situation.

Bro, I don't think you will ever recover the lost lenses (sorry to say that) no matter what is the outcome of the police investigation. The person who have the missing lenses had either sold them or really lost them and in any case, if he could return the lenses or at least pay for the missing lenses, he would already have done so.

What?? Sell flat to pay the lens back??

Unbelievable.....

If it turn into a 'police' case ,then suggest you should claim loss of revenue on top of the lens.

Wait, criminal charges were not pressed against him?

i think the lenses cannot be retrieved anymore, but must demand for compensation on the revenue lost on this process and the value of the lens itself...

Think you too kind hearted. He had intention to sell the lenses. Dun think he will stop at this even after his family sell flat to pay for the lens

Very surprised that only both of us are stunned by this.. :o

I am stunned. TBH, not because that this measure is drastic, but that they actually willing to do something about it.

But whatever is due, must be done. TS MUST claim for the losses of the loss lens, on top of any loss revenue, lost of time (in man-hour terms)on spend on this case, and also charge any administrative and lawyer's fees to them.

Nothing to sympathize about, really.

Since they hired a lawyer, you should send them a lawyer letter as well, and claim all loss of revwnue as well as legal costs. If not, sue the bugger for theft and send him to prison.

Wow.. Sell flat to pay for the stolen lenses.. That guy is so dumb! Oh well, I agree with the rest too. Must pursue this matter to the end and claim for all the loss of use, emotional trauma, etc. to them. In addition, should send the dumb guy to jail too. Else they will never learn.

And get your lawyer to remind them that the liability will add up by the day. The longer the case drags, the bigger the liability.

A case like this it is very to claim any thing other than monetary loss. Emotionak distress will not usually fly in this kind of cases. But ts really need to get legal representation as well, since the other side lawyered up.
