Between D100 and D1x...

OK, I bought the D1x.:gbounce:

$3000 for the entire package plus an extra battery and a D-2 eye cap (or whatever you call it). The camera turned out to be 15 months old, and 3500 shots taken. Condition is very good. Hand was shaking when I wrote the cheque.

Love the feel of it, though a little dissapointed by the smaller view in the viewfinder compared to a film SLR. Also, kind of dissapointed that it will not support TTL flash on SB24. Everything else has been great so far.

Had been admiring it the whole evening until now I have a sprained wrist and have to type this post with my left hand only. That thing IS heavy!

Thanks to all your feedback and advice. I am sure I will enjoy this camera very much.

$300???;p

For a moment I thought I really made such a big blunder in my typing....if $300 I don't think he will have to wait 2 weeks and still no offer until I came along.;)

Thanks!

Oops, my typo. Should be S$3000 or US$3000...;p

Glad to see that you have settled on the camera and have already bought it. Now, all you've got to do is to start shooting! :)

Hope your wrist heals soon. :)

PS: How did you sprain it anyway? ;) :D

Took a few family snapshots tonight as it is my dad's birthday. The feel of this camera is so great.

With only a 192MB CF card, I can only take about 70 shots at JPEG FINE. SInce I do not have a 1394 interface card on my PC yet, I am using my CP995 as a card reader!

Will post some pictures once I have more presentable work from this camera.

Thanks!

Haha...it's US$3000.

Maybe Larry will not say that it is such a good deal now, if he also thought it was S$3000.

Heehee...I spent the entire evening doing the following:

1. pick up the camera
2. fiddle with the controls, look in the view finder, take a shot, and then admire it for a while
3. put the camera down
4. flip through the user manual
5. goto sptep 1

I had to stop after about 3 hours when I felt my wrist huriting from the repeated stress injury!:p

Some time ago there was a thread talking about the different types of photographers and I remember one of them is called "equipment masterXX":bsmilie:

not what, i always thought it was US$... :D

anyway at US$3K, that would make it approx S$5200, which is still a good price, given the condition as roygoh described.

don't think you can find that kinda price here now...

Hey isn't that the reason I came over to "this" side because it was the "other" side for me 2 years ago?
