I use a zenit clunk-o-matic film chopper. Do I qualify as the worlds worst photographer?

Wahh you forgot the following Jed:

3000/2
12800mm f3

Sorry Jed, I don't see "a pair of sharp eyes", "taste", "patience" and "good knowledge of exposure" in your list of selections :p

This poll is a nice joke. Still, I know of SOOO many people who think they will become superb photogs like HCB or AA if only they had that Leica M6/EOS-1V/whatever.

I own an OM-2 and I'm extremely satisfied :P

Nice camera... my dad dropped his in a rainbow trout fishery pond... and well... never was the same again... :(

you are a professional if you own :

All are pro. :D

But seriously, yeah! They don't have a name for it. "ED" isn't quite it either...

One look at the finishing and a peek thru the viewfinder wif the lens, u know is a pro lens. Incidently, Nikon pro lens seem to have a gold ring at the end of the lens barrel. :)

The end result is to get a perfect shot. 2 approach...

1. Best equipment + lousy photographer = quality shot OR

2. No so Best equipment + Best Photographer = quality shot.

2 ways to perfection. pick your choice.

#1 will never happen. Give a lousy photographer a [insert your favourite top-end camera + lens combo here] and the results will still not be good. Yes, maybe it's super sharp, exposure is spot-on, etc but that does not make it a good photo.

For your information, "ED" is the condition for which we usually prescribe Viagra...

There is no best photographer in the world.

One should strive as a goal to create contemporary mysterious
or still-life images with aesthetic context with one
of the choices given or even with a primitive camera gear.

The tools that the photographer uses is a novelty to his
image-making process especially in such areas like
sports, photojournalism, candid, events and reportage.
With better tools a thinking photographer can tell a more
exciting and appealing story.

Cartier would have done his work just as well if he was
given a Yashic G, the range-finder with a 45mm f/1.7 lens.

I once attended a NTUPVS talk by ST fotoman Mr Lim boon tiong I think... (not too good with names, me) he said he carries around a digital ixus in his pocket all the time...

Guys,

It's alonely at the Top. And the constant fear of being replaced. Sooner or later, there's always be someone challenging the TOP to be no.1. I rather be no.2.... and in my opinion, there's no no.1... and I owned a Nikon D100.

Cheers.
