what features you want in Epson P-5000?

It can play dvi, movie, MP3, download photos from CF/SD, connect to TV...etc. IMO, it is a very good entertainment device... :)

Of course if you want a product that can do extra thingy like radio, internet...then Epson P-5000 is not for you... ;p

Epson P-3000 and P-5000 are same specs except the HDD size. One is 40GB and one is 80GB.

Canon M30 and M80 not yet out...so no comment. Not so confident with first generation product...

record from TV... :bsmilie: btw not play dvi, its playback divx.

when a PSD is so much complicated...then it is no longer a PSD and we call it a notebook or laptop... :bsmilie:

I think the competitor to Epson is Jobo Giga Vu Pro Evo...which I read at dpreview is very good as well :)

Vosonic is very good value for money... ;)

hmmm since when i become Superman & u converted to Lois Lane? :bsmilie:

Simplest now is, u deposit 5k Cash into my bank account, then i go get a Vosonic 8360 with 100g Hdd, and another Epson P5000, then i do a detail comparison, and end of the day u get to choose 1, and i will sacrifice to keep the other.

*Note the excess from after the purchase is used for the long term sacrifice ritual. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

I hope I can summerize all these I know.... I'm also planning to get one after seeing the offer from Creative sales...

Hope these information is correct at pt of my findings, correct me if I've given the wrong info.
After these comparison, seem like Vosonic VP8360 has all the attractive features. However, I probably settle for the Epson P-5000 or the Creative Zen Vision W, cos the picture quality appears to be brighter and screen size is bigger.

wats the resolution of the creative?

Creative Zen Vision (non W) is 640x480... but the viewing angle is limited... also no zoom in/out, can transfer only jpeg, no detailed exif info, no direct print and the worse... u need to use "zen vision media explorer" to access the files after that... kind of sucks...

vosonic have zoom in/out, jpeg, bmp, tiff, gif, raw (for several dslr camera), better exif detail, histogram :D:D and 8390 is quite usable in any angle... but... the resolution is 320x240...

if u have money buy epson p5000/p3000, if u on budget buy vosonic 8360/8390, if u shot just in jpeg, go for zen vision cause is smaller and better battery life ;) (mine use the extended one and last like 8 hrs video/24 hrs audio)... :D

i'm a convert... i saw the new 8390... and i go... WOW... it preserves the image quality and when u zoom, u can still see the details. and the OLED screen is just darn sweet. and the speed is fast, alot faster than P2000.

i waiting for p5000:(

1. creative zen w resolution is not impressive, the screen is very nice... creative zen instead have 640x480 but the viewing angle is limited... if want to see pix i recomend the second one... but non of them can zoom in/out...

2. does anyone managed to see the vosonic 8360/8390 printing? i use a cp720 from canon and can not print at all.... i set the printer, configure, etc... said is printing but... nothing... :(

I'm using the P2000 currently.

Anyway, its good enough for me and I do not foresee myself upgrading to a P3000 or P5000. Much as possible, I'd try to preserve the battery life and uses mainly as a OTG with occasional browsing. I take photos in RAW+basic and therefore, would run a slideshow to view the jpg files.

FYI, the Epson supports zooming capabilities.
