how can you say that we are poisoning you? We just want you to get the best out of your camera, by using the appropriate lenses.

so how? 35 f/2 and 85 f/1.8?

Can i make some suggestions to make this sort of outing a more enjoyable one?

Maybe its a good idea to form smaller groups?

Take this outing for example: 10 to 3-4 guides?

Wouldn't it be better if its 3-4 per guide ?

I mean its definitely easier for the guide to bring along 3-4 people rather than 10 as what i can see on that day is that most of them are OTOT (own time own target) walk around and snapping 'blindly' - and i mean for the newbies and not those who seems to me are more than beginners (i'm judging them by their equipments, correct me if i'm wrong)

And it is confirmed better if the guide can review the photos from the newbies straight away and probably guide us into what setting is better when snapping this scenery/object etc and there perhaps can 'poison' us into seeing which lens is better for this kind of outing.

Just my 2cents worth of thoughts, can take into consideration for the future outings

P.S. I know the outing is 100% voluntary work for the organizer and i totally appreciate it  because it felt better walking in a group and snapping pictures rather than walking alone like a silly goose.

why not ask for an ice-breaking session before the whole shooting starts so everyone will know each other better? -.-

Hi lsfchris, Appreciate your feedback. Guides can help you review your photos no doubt about that. But its a very time consuming job for guides to review all of your photos and comment and each one of them. I would usually prefer shooters to choose maybe about 3 - 5 out of all of their photos to be commented on. Unless it happens that I come across a photo that requires an urgent need to address on. Those who went for TCSS session after that, there are a few who pop over to ask some stuff. Its more of taking initiative to come and ask question. Its hard for the guides to know what problem you have unless you raise a problem to us then we could share with the others.

If you have realized for my group, I would be asking if anybody has any issue with the basic stuff like ISO, Aperture, Exposure etc. If nobody has issue, its more of a practice session and after you shoot, you are free to pop over to any guides and ask for opinion etc. I'm sure we will be glad to provide you with an answer where possible.

Of course if we have more guides, we will be able to spilt the whole group even smaller. As some of the newbies are new. They tend to be shy and won't ask a lot of question. Those who are outspoken will ask more question. Guides do try to engage them to ask question and talk more but if the person still feel shy after some tries by the guide. We will let them have some warm up time before engaging these people again. ^^

Its good you did raise some issue for us to clarify your doubts.

Cheers

Well, I learned from similar outings by peeping into other people's live view and try to do the same. A very behaviourist way to learn. :bsmilie:
