Hi charif

most of your shots are not leveled and its grainy as wad others have mentioned.

Here are somethings for you to read up on. If u still have doubt post your question. I will try to answer them if not whoever around here will guide you further. As a beginner, I understand that you are still in the process of trying to figure out the function on your camera thus read the following guide to help you narrow your learning curve.

HI skylover ,

Thanks for advice & link.. I will got through learn more from guys... :-)

thanks
Charif
D5000;35mm/1.8

Did you bought the kit lens together with D5000? if yes, i would suggest you shoot landscape with the kit lens(18mm-55mm) since the 18mm-35mm will be wider and allow better composition than the fixed 35mm on ur 35mm,f1.8.

Also i realise that your pics seems abit grainy n not sharp. Are you using the correct settings?

Just a suggestion, ISO 200, aperture mode, f11, LS, 2sec timer and with ur tripod:D
Hi Sqroot,

Thanks for your commnent. currently only i have 35mm/1.8 lens.
Think to Buy zoom lens - Tamron 17-50 /F2.8 Di-II non-vc or Sigma 17-70 /f2.8 - 4 OS HSM..

Bros advise me which one can i go :-)

You have to ask yourself what you want to shoot.

Low light?Tamron because of the constant f2.8 apeture
Reach?Sigma because of the longer zoom range(70mm)
IS or non-IS(For Tamron its called VC and Sigma its called OS)?
Price?

Hi guys....when i saw all those photos you have taken of my neighbourhood....to me....all of them look very, very professionally taken. I am interested in having a Photography Contest next month (Feb'11) during one of our Block Party organised by Residents' Committee....not sure if there will be any participants.

Was thinking of opening exclusively to CS members only! (Is it too selfish?)

BTW.....I met u guys at the kopitiam after your exciting shoot...I hoping to find 1 or 2 who can help me organize and run the show.

Hope to hear yr comments....whether its a great idea? Or scrap it ?

Hi

glad that you like the photos. It will be great for you to organize one. In my opinion, open to all, who knows you might get to see even better photos from your area. I understand that you need one or two.

If you seriously need helper, you could post it at Service Wanted Section.

Alternative, if you need more feedback, i would recommend you to post one at Kopitiam Corner to gather more feedback from the community.

Cheers ^^

This will be my final post to this thread.

I would like to apologize to Cleonbus and other CS members if I was perceived to have intruded on your gathering at the kopitiam. I realise now I should not have done so. But once again let me salute all the photographers of the marvellous job each of you did that morning.

I am actually in the teaching service for the past 16 yrs and not selling any wares that morning (maybe it must have been the clothings I was wearing :) )

Correctly pointed out by Sarong1....I am the secretary of a Residents' Committee in Teban Gardens. I showed my committee the photos on my laptop last nite and none of them could recognize the beautifully taken sceneries (some of them have stayed there for 25yrs. Kudos once again to the organizer and photographers.

Thanks for the valuable feedback from Skylover......I will scale the Contest down to an Outing for the time being. ( I am still holding an 'L' plate in this club)

I have a suggestion for photographers of this trip....would you like my MP, Mr S Iswaran Senior Minister of State for Education, Ministry of Trade & Industry (the same guy who brought the F1 Race to our shores) to endorse the photos with a short message? I can arrange for it (HP: 9123-6999). I'm sure it would make this sunrise trip....extra memorable.

Finally...well done Cleonbus......KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
