I came across 1 before and he told me he was from a UK registered company...I checked and confirmed the company existed...then he even added me on msn to talk about the deal...started off with over friendly tone like...how's your work my friend? how did you spend your weekend?(sounds fake and bs..)then finally he came up with a very ridiculous price for a D90 kit and asked for money transfer to a Western Union account. The moment "Western Union" came up...it was alr a big give away...then I asked him what was the shipping rate like? He told me free and takes 3 days...(who would believe man...3 days...):bsmilie:

I don't think any damage or time was wasted for him.

All he needs to do is move on, and cheat more unsuspecting people. At worst, he just needs to change his email or things to sell.

Unless someone is willing to take the trouble and get that guy apprehended, I think the one who's really wasting time would be people who taunt him! Cos at the end of it, say out of 10 such nuisance pranks played on him (not that his is not a prank!), perhaps one innocent person will part money to him.

The loss is not on him. And you are not making him known on the Net also cos I doubt "John" is his real name.

And there's no use to knock sense into him. If he could feel any guilt, he wouldn't resort to this sort of cheating in the first place.

many many years ago.... at hwz, there was someone who is very good at getting back at these scammers...

i remember that he managed to ask that scammer to write something like "HWZ, wo ai jiak lao sai"... on a cardboard and ask the scammer to take a picture with the cardboard and post it to him...

the scammer really took a picture of him with the cardboard and all of us really got a good laugh over it.
