Hamzee,

I do love these 2 shots. :) Keep up the good work.

PS: Go easy on the PS. ;)

No. He used a GND. Why would he do that and HDR anyways? :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

oh...
paiseh lah, me ignorant that y asking mah..;)
seen his HDR pics and they were awesome and thus wondered if this was the effect of HDR mah..

I:heart: no 2. Btw, what sort of GND are you using?

Absolutely astounding! The best Singapore Landscape photograph I've ever seen!

Just simple curves, dodging and burning in Photoshop. Serious! ;)

Both got my vote! :-) I thought this is HDR because all areas are properly exposed... :-) Hee hee... Care to share the step-by-step guide to this cool dodging and burning??? Thanks!

Wolfgang:: Thank you for the tips boss! Will take note of that. ;)

Shutt3rbug / RodelFMiguel / Berserk:: Heya guys, I am trying to stay away from HDR processing for now. I get really unpredictable results with the tone-blending and recently gave up. I'm still learning how to utilize ND grads of all types and see what I can come out with. For starters, like what night86mare mentioned (tks bro!) you can try out the Tianya filters. I don't know if PPCP actually have them stock but you can always check them out.

Post production wise, I already have a workflow for processing my images. Its in this order: Contrast adjustments with adjustment layers -> Masking -> Painting with light -> Selective Coloring -> Flatten and save for the web.

To be able to do this effectively, you need to shoot in RAW and with the lowest contrast possible. Time is of the day + finding a nice spot + luck is also important as well.

I followed this tutorial on painting with light and I think its great.

Hope that helps you folks find your own way to create the desired image.

raincool2005:: LOL!! I smell an MO around the corner...

Fire Kirin:: Thanks buddy! ;)

Yeah, I'm getting a little bored with HDR too. You get quite a standard look most of the time and as long as there's a little wind with my little puny tripod I get a soft image which is worsened by light smoothing in Photomatix. It's either that or funnily patterned noise.

Cokin also has GND filters.. There have been threads about this, and I have been doing some reading up so that I can just go out and buy when I have money. You'd probably want a square filter system because a screw in GND means you must suck thumb and place the horizon in the centre everytime.. Probably not a good idea.

Some recent shoot with my gf. Let me know what you think. ;)
