LKY did not write the book.
Some Caucasians wrote the book after interviewing him.
The cover of the book is a discredit to him. LKY would not call himself "Grandmaster". That is a self-aggrandizement.
Some country/organisation who is behind Graham Allison, Robert D. Blackwill and Ali Wyne is just using LKY to hit out at PRC.
What was said in an interview by LKY can be quoted completely out of context. And mis-used for a different purpose.
LKY's era is almost over. Regardless of whether what he said is wise or not, PRC is not keen to listen to him.
PRC actually told LKY off once in the past - that he "is not family". Telling him to stay out of PRC-Taiwan cross strait matters.
Because of Singapore's extreme small size, what our leaders say is almost irrelevant on the world stage. That's unfortunate.
They may be very wise. But their words have no impact on the world stage. Singapore has no economic or military clout.
USA is nice to a country, only if it (for example, Singapore) is clearly in their camp.
Otherwise, they can engineer regime change (e.g. in Cambodia - Lon Nol - Sihanouk).
But by and large, USA is benign and progressive compared to others (remember how Japan behaved when it occupied Singapore).
All rich and powerful nations are belligerent. Not just USA and PRC.
Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany, USSR, France, Japan have had their glory days of imposing their will on other nations by military force, in the past.
Small and weak nations like Singapore just have to play it safe.
